well you just killed your own argument there.
if its an undeniable flop, then he cant deny it.
as opposed to missy's album which was a flop for months but was later saved.

usually, boredom & disdain are usually expressed by people that are cold.

My argument was not killed. The point is he didn't HAVE to acknowledge his album at all. This was an excerpt from HIS book.

He didn't express disappointment with Missy's album because it actually SOLD and went PLATINUM.

Breh, boredom and disdain comes with routine. Even people at the peak of their careers express boredom and disdain and usually take a hiatus and attempt to come back. That didn't happen with Timbaland. Dude had been expressing boredom with Hip Hop throughout his career as early as 2001 when he had multiple hit songs and was THE most sought after producer.

well that explains it.

she flopped in '99, so of course I would shut down the idea that she was hotter than them.

No you didn't shut down anything. And yes, Missy was hotter than No Limit at that point. It isn't even a question. Only No Limit rapper bigger than Missy in Summer 1999 is Snoop. And if you're calling Missy a flop in 1999, I'm quite interested in knowing what you consider everything No Limit dropped after Top Dogg in 1999.

and like I said, it went platinum LATER. it was a flop for months beforehand.

youre talking in circles and wasting my time.

he was getting cold around the time he said that chit in the source.

then the other 1 or 2 times he made that statement, it was the same situation.

hotter at what?

for one, shes not even in the same genre, which makes this a pointless discussion. shes an r&b act that raps.

then on top of that, her chit was a flop in '99, while no limit was a huge commodity breaking HISTORICAL ground, touring arenas on the east coast. meanwhile, ive never heard of a missy elliot tour in my life.

just because they weren't as successful in '97-98, it doesnt mean that they had a bad '99. it was just shakey BY THEIR OWN STANDARDS. they set the bar way higher for themselves than a missy Elliot, it doesn't mean that missy was hotter. and chit, missy chit bricked anyway.

And again, you don't know what a flop is.

Breh, that Source article is from 2001 (I have the issue. It's the cover with Tha Eastsidaz). He was far from "cold". This was around the time "Get Ur Freak On" was still everywhere. "Is That Your Chick" was in rotation. It was right around the time "Raise Up" and "Ugly" were released or about to be released.

That is not what I asked you. Here you are dancing around the issue again.

No Limit and Missy were in the same genre. They were rappers. So what Missy sang?

The question I asked is "if Missy was a flop in 1999, what are you calling every No Limit that dropped after Top Dogg?"

Missy was also a huge commodity breaking historical ground. There was nothing historical about No Limit's tour in 1999. And there's no truth behind them setting a bar way higher. It's more juelzing from you to deflect from the question I asked. And if according to you, "Missy bricked", you can't honestly say No Limit didn't brick BY THEIR OWN STANDARDS. 1999 was a bad year for No Limit. They only had two platinum albums that year vs. nearly TEN platinum albums the previous year. Every act that dropped in 1997 or 1998 and returned in 1999 sold significantly less in 1999 including Snoop. Silkk was the only exception.

Missy's standard was platinum and she still went platinum. Every No Limit not named Silkk or Snoop wasn't even gold when they previously went platinum. The gold artists were no longer gold. TRU went from 2X platinum to taking a year and some change to go gold (which is literally 1/4 of what they previously did). Same for Master P. He had an album that was 4X Platinum in 1998, and was barely Gold with OGCJM in 1999 (less than 1/4 of what he previously did).
