Always crack up at the live performance with Diddy spinning around and Busta spazzing in the bottom-right corner when Nas gets on stage.
Nas - Hate Me Now (1999)
I thought it was a regression. I'd bought Illmatic, and It Was Written beforehand, and then he came with some just extravgant, superfluous flossing. With It Was Written he managed to be lyrical, but was able to broaden his fanbase. Hate Me Now, and his subsquent album I Am felt like to me he was putting lyrics to the backseat, and just focusing on being pop.
He bared the cross cause his idol did a couple years priorHe bared the Cross for hip hop so nikkas can eat
I remember thinking it was about as bad a Nas song I'd ever heard in my life and he had completely gone off the rails and would never return to proper form.
One of the most irritating, shrill and piercing beats ever. Utter trash.
so its like the styles p aaliyah lineThe original version with Puff on the cross next to Nas is rare as f*ck...
It only aired once on MTV in April 1999.
I've only seen a photo of it in a magazine. Someone must of had their VCR recording that day, in some basement in their grandparents crib...
