I call a lot of :duck: on these pullup numbers unless everyone is like under 160lbs in this thread :manny:
Lots of tiny ass dudes on here .. 150? .. geezh
I'm around 145lbs on a heavy day but weight alone doesn't determine someone's phsyique or strength. I wrestled in high school so I was always cutting weight while working to maintain muscles/strength. Most wrestlers are short but saying that they're tiny wouldn't be accurate.

I don't really see why the numbers are unbelievable (except maybe a couple). The thread asked for your max pushups and pullups, meaning the most you've ever done. Plus, they are two different exercises that work separate muscle groups (shoulders/arms vs mostly chest).

Being able to do double digit pulls isn't that impressive to me. There are a lot of gym guys who couldn't translate their stats outside of four walls. I'm also aware that most of you are civilians, so it might seem extreme.

I know guys who can do 20 plus pullups and run under 55 minutes for 10 miles. :whoo: Also weight isn't an indicator of strength. Most people just want to look good at the beach. A lot of muscle heads completely ignore the cardio aspect. Yes you might look good, but are you actually in shape? To me being able to bench 265, but run a 15 minute two miler is pathetic. I know too many guys like that.

Here are the standards for the Marines and Army to max. It breaks down by age.

United States Army Physical Fitness Test - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

To max for a 22-26 year old male in the Army you would have to do 74 pushups and 80 situps in 2 minutes. You would also have to run 2 miles in under 13 minutes. How many on here could do that? :jawalrus:. The max is 300 and then there is an extended scale. I scored a 373. The highest ever recorded for Active duty was a 402. The guy did 132 pushups, 114 situps in 2 minutes then ran a 11:53 two miler. :whoo: Oh and he wasn't Infantry or nothing. A support soldier.

For Marines to max to earn a perfect PFT score of 300 points, a male must do 20 pull-ups, 100 crunches in less than two minutes, and complete the three mile run in 18 minutes or less.

Really not that hard to do. The way they score their crunches are interesting but I maxed theirs as well. And I'm not physically imposing at all so I'll take my 155lbs for the :win:

saying u have to do 20 pull-ups and 100 crunches in 2 minutes is different then saying do 20 straight pull-ups.

74 pushups and 80 situps in 2 minutes together or 74 push ups in 2 minutes then 80 situps in 20 minutes?

plus i got to see nikkas forms on these pullups.............that swinging shyt doesnt count....

Lol You really think they allow you to swing like some cross-fit clown? Man graders will straight up repeat your number as they see fit if they don't think you did a full pull up, pushup sit-up or crunch.

This is like a video or it didnt happen moment ..

Everyone on here seems to be a fit GOD .. I doubt thats reality ..

Whatever if you say you can do 50-11 pushups .. and 40-11 pull ups .. Then it is what it is

I feel you. This is the internet and after George Gooney got called out, I'd be skeptical as well. My personally opinion is anyone who posts pictures, videos, etc is not important or has an important job. Especially attempting to prove to a stranger who and what you are or do. Not to mention it's tacky. That's my personal opinion so no one needs to respond to it.

My professional opinion is it's frowned upon. You never know who's reading. Take it for what it's worth, but if you read my posts on running in this forum you'd see that I know what I'm talking about. :manny:

In the end it is what it is .. Everyone here knows who they really are and in the end thats all that matters .. And being knowledgeable about a subject doesn't necessarily mean one is proficient in it .. Not saying you aren't the runner you say you are .. Just generally speaking ..

Like I said, just find it hard to believe that everyone on this forum is going HAM on the pullups when its probably one of the hardest things for the normal man to do ..
