'I learned in the news that Warner Bros. has decided to release “Dune” on HBO Max at the same time as our theatrical release, using prominent images from our movie to promote their streaming service. With this decision AT&T has hijacked one of the most respectable and important studios in film history. There is absolutely no love for cinema, nor for the audience here. It is all about the survival of a telecom mammoth, one that is currently bearing an astronomical debt of more than $150 billion.'

@MartyMcFly probably still somewhere thinking that this was a 'good consumer move' though.:mjlol:
:russ: And you’re still up your own ass fishing for daps.

Nolan crashed a real plane for Tenet and the audience said :yeshrug:

He doesn't hold as much weight as he think he does. Lucas and Spielberg predicted this shyt in 2012, Rona just sped things up. Nolan wants things to be one way, but it's the other way.

That said WB could've handled this better.
Idk if it’s Nolan not holding the same clout as it’s just the fact we’re in a fukking pandemic lol. The only reason I saw tenet is cause there’s a drive in near me. That’s it. If not for that, wouldn’t have happened.

You’re right about Spielberg and Lucas tho. And we’ve talked about that ad nausuem in here. Studios relying on big blockbusters to make their money was a model fraught with long term issues. Audiences deciding that some movies are for Netflix and others are for theaters just made the model worse.

But like I said in the other thread, you can’t fukk over your partners. Especially when they have agents and they’re in unions.

Warners or att royally fukked this up and like I told @wire28 the other day, we’re next.

Dude made WB release a movie who's audio was fukked up during a panedemic and which the box office itself pretty much kept the money from the movie, because they were out here starving to...

And when WB decides they probably don't need to lose 10 of millions if no a 100 million dollars on a movie and they are going to release it on streaming services, the guy who is the one person who caused them to lose all that money in the first place complains :mjlol:

Cacs say the darndest things episode 258 :mjlol:

nikka WB aint gotta say shyt to those directors or creators. You want your work seen or not? Cause this here theater shyt is dead. So we putting it out the best way possible.
Eh, if you're talent and part of your agreement with WB is that I get a share of the box office gross and then without letting me know, you decide that my movie will come out on streaming at the same time, I'm going to have a problem with that.

Warner eats off people signing up for HBO Max, talent doesn't.

In general folks who wanna see the movie in the theater gon see it that way.
Casual movie going is dead in these times so you aint bout to do huge box office numbers.
If WB said "yo we gon shelf your movie til theaters look good and healthy again, it might be the end of '21, maybe '22 you like that?"
They'd most likely bytch about that.

I spent a nice amount of money of my home setup. I rather watch movies at home than go to the theater.
