Walter White really wasn’t all that bad. He was a stand up dude. His arrogance and ego got the best of him. He could’ve took the job at his old friend’s company and had all his medical bills paid for.
Stood and watched a young girl choke to death on her own vomit without doing anything just because he thought she was a bad influence.

Dissolved a little boy's body in a vat of acid just to cover his own ass.

Killed nearly all his own business partners in cold blood, including one who absolutely idolized him and another who had saved his life before, solely to protect his own ass.

Had dozens of other people killed.

Willingly partnered with White Supremacists and even sent them to kill Jesse.

Poisoned a little kid.

Even his original "innocent" plot was making enormous quantities of high-quality meth that was going to fukk up thousands of peoples' lives....solely because he was too butthurt over a relationship that didn't work out 20 years ago.

You know, I was about to say that the Judge character might be worse.
But after reading through the above...not really.
(At least not yet).

Was gonna watch this, can’t commit until I know black people ain’t gonna get hoed around with no vengeance. Somebody let me know I ain’t gonna be watching 10 episodes of shyt pissing me off

This. All facts. I’ll let you know bc I’m already committed- got hooked in the first 2 eps. BUT had I known this was that detrimental to black characters, I would have waited just like you. (On the other had it shows the true nature of white people with corruption and their evil ways instead of portraying them as “can’t do no wrong” savior complex bull shyt.”)!At least until the season was over and spoiled the ending for myself which would have made the decision for me, then go back and watch from EP 1 throughout. It’s very demonic. All I’m saying. The most frustrating series that I’ve ever watched in a long time. They’re dragging this shyt out too. Every episode - a Black person gets aired out, figuratively or literally. I have a feeling the young boy in one of the lead roles is going to be on a revenge kick and the Judge’s son is going to fold - so I think things are starting to crack to where it all comes to a head.

Yea at first I thought it was a good depiction of how Black folk get jammed up and always get the worst of it...pointing out how it’s a systemic attribute of white supremacy in Amerikka even when the players involved are “good” white people, liberals or even other Black folk. Felt uncomfortable, but real. But as the weeks go by, it feels like the writers might be enjoying this shyt in a Tarantino kind of way. :picard:

Listen... two more episodes right? They better make all these cacs pay because I can’t watch another episode of a BLACK person getting screwed over by this judge.

I got a feeling they won’t even resolve this shyt this season and they’re gonna try to stretch important plot points to another season.

lastly, how the fukk is nobody bringing up that the prison covered up Kofi’s murder?!? :mindblown: Thats the most obvious thing to discuss in the trial

honestly it’s a bit tone deaf given the time we’re in and it’s low key traumatic to watch as a black person.

This is a good ass point. Even outside of the trial, you’d think that’s what Lee would have focused on after getting Baxter charged instead of whatever it is she’s doing with Eugene.

Yessir. Well stated. Not going to lie but this show makes me very uncomfortable. That is until you start doing research; these plot lines and subplots are all interconnected to real life in some way. Also I look at it through the lens of white people always being portrayed as “heroic” or do no wrong, the voices of reason - this series flips all of that narrative. The concept of “the well educated white establishment” do no evil. Look through the Google user reviews - whites are mad as shyt outrage: the “how dare you make us look bad” and “how dare you portray white privilege and ” refrain.

Sadly, this show is just about the opposite of everything I loved about Breaking Bad...it sensationalizes reality at every turn, creates drama from nothing (with the music being a big part of that), has very little to relate to for the average person (the kid is sleeping with his teacher!? - what a random thing to put in the story), and the plot holes are thick and wide. On top of all of this there seems to be a very unsubtle political agenda behind much of the storyline...and not for anyone's real benefit. There is no learning or "takeaways" from it - just the same old popular drivel about class/socioeconomic status, race, privilege, systems, etc ...not that these topics aren't good to discuss in this manner - just look at American History X - they did a great job with the same subject matter. This show is just so forced it seems fake - as if during 2020 with all the political upheaval someone marched in the studio during filming and said "scrap everything, we're going a different way to appease the crowds!" I truly wanted to like this one but both my wife and I had to turn it off after the second episode and we won't be going back for the 3rd. If I were to summarize the entire thing up with a single word it would be "cliche".”

see? They also expressed the same sentiment at Nate Parker, “Birth of a Nation”, “The Banker” with Samuel Jackson. They tried to stop production of both movies. “Why make a movie reminding us about (fill in the blank)”

That commenter broke bad it seems - breaking news; white people don’t like their dirt and power position of corruption exposed- word to GameStop. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

I usually dont read comments cause them shyts is toxic.
But i seen one under a review video for "One Night in Miami" and some KKKlown goes, "ok. We get it. white man is bad. We're the cause of all your problems." Then ends the shyt with "cry me a river n***&#*."

:deadmanny:

These demons are so pressed. Cause all eyes are on them. With the hypocrisy, looney political shyt, willingness to turn traitor for orange pea brain piece of shyt.
Nah.
Let them see themselves in this shyt.
