I say this often, but if Citizen Kane hadn't spent the last 50 years as "THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER MADE" a lot more people would justifiably consider it the greatest movie ever made. It has an impossible reputation to live up to.
I actually just watched it last weekend, and it's never not great.
