The real question is if you can read A&R, Artist and repertoire. He's not a fukking corporate lawyer. The dude runs a successful clothing brand, he started behind the desk, not in the booth like 12 years ago. Of course he knows how to read a damn statement. He might not understand legal documents and shyt but they've got lawyers and shyt for that.

I see this move as Atlantic/Warner Music Group aka Lyor Cohen is trying to dethrone Def Jam as the #1 hiphop label and he's collecting business savvy people with connections that are used to working independently like Ross, Jeezy and on. He should've gone for the good music camp and it would've been a wrap, Def Jam must've shytted out money to re-sign Kanye . Jeezy is probably there to guide some rappers how to move, most likely rappers that already are on.

dont get in your feelings over another man.. agree to disagree, Jeezy looks like he cant read. He's just a pawn for Lyor to bring in some talent. Jeezy is a talent scout right now

I get it.. I aint hating

who's on atlantic anyway? tip, wiz, lupe..
Not too many rappers that I know of, thats' the funny thing.. It's a lot of pop and rock acts on there. I know Jigga released BP3 on Atlantic, Trey Songz is on there, Plies, Bruno mars, Janelle monae, B.o.B and I think Guccci Mane is on there or maybe he was when Asylum was being distributed through Atlantic :deadrose:

Yeah Atlantic kind of or is going through a transition... I mean their main bread and butter was T.I. They were essentially trying to make him the Jay-Z over there, but he went ahead and fukked that up.... After that a lot of their acts have been... eghhhhhhh

Right now they still rely of T.I. and have B.O.B & Flo Rida (singles based artist), Trey Songz (consistent sales but nothing Amazing) and Wiz Khalifa.

Atlantic houses Elektra too. This label is really marketed for cross genre/indie/experimental acts... Bruno Mars and Cee Lo are the faces of this company.....

Right now Atlantic isn't really known for their hip hop acts... more so their cross over acts (Flo Rida & Wiz).... I guess they are hoping Jeezy can bring some change...

And yes... Lyor is trying to dethrone Def Jam

BTW...

Warner already owns the Rock market, next up for them is the Hip Hop market.... and you can slowly see them trying to sneak their way into the EDM world... but Interscope got that on lock.
