You are not wrong. At all. Never even doubted it, it just seems wild. This is turning really bad, really fukking fast. Hopefully it's all a giant nothing burger with cheese, but we have this many right wing, fascist leaning, wanna be dictators puffing their chests out, all bets are off the table.
A world war requires adversaries to be at least somewhat matched.

That's why all that fancy gunship, new fighter plane, bases around the world, etc. stuff is nice and all.
But the country who wins (everybody loses really) are the countries that are willing to use every single last one in their arsenal and have an effective delivery system - which we all can do. When Super Powers declare war on each other, these are the first and last things that fly.
