Yep. The music is probably the best 'party' music the metal scene created. It's fun to throw a thrash record on and crush a couple beers before you go out but it was basically the beginning of the punk and metal fusion. It's aite. You like any of the punkier joints like SOD or DRI?
Oh hell yah

I only fukk with the 1st DRI album though, with the 10 sec songs and Speak English Or Die is a classic.

Cryptic Slaughter and Wehrmacht are pretty goat too

I just found out about this yesterday :russ:

Its like the black equivalent of NSBM, these nikkas legit writing lyrics about killing cacs and how blacks are the masterrace on a black metal song :mjlol:

The shyt is actually pretty good tho :lupe: the racism is a bit much so I can't really see myself fukking with it but the music is cool

I actually have that Nazgul album on my music queue, but this is my first time listening to them. The playing is on point, and that little Final Fantasy sounding interlude in the middle was a nice touch. That one ridiculous fukking shriek though :deadmanny: I can't even put my finger on what it sounded like. Still gonna check this album out.

:ohhh: Never heard of Averse Sefira before, but this is really fukking good. The song you linked is better than anything on Blizzard Beasts. Gonna have to cop that Tetragrammatical Astygmata.

By the way, as someone who can actually play instruments and understand the music on a technical level, how much does it improve your appreciation of the genre? Like, I can identify very basic shyt like riffing, solos, drums, bass, pacing, distortion, etc. But once you get into different time signatures and guitar tones/chords, I'm fukking lost. It seems like you HAVE to play instruments before you can understand the genre on that level.

This is hilarious, I hope more bands pop up in this vein. I wonder if there's any Pro-Jewish NSBM equivalents in the genre.

The music itself is a bit too generic to bother downloading though.

Girl I know put me on to metal recently. I was already familiar with thrash metal and such, was a big Megadeth fan, even went to one of their shows.

My shyt these days though is stoner and doom metal.

It's basically a lot of stuff inspired by Black Sabbath circa-Master of Reality.

Beyond that, I'm also getting into black metal but don't really know where to go beyond Immortal and Burzum.

Assuming you've heard the rest of the Norwegian Black Metal pantheon(early-Mayhem, Satyricon, Gorgoroth with Pest, Thorns, Emperor, etc) then go to Judas my friend, go to Judas...

Two of the dopest black metal songs i've ever heard :wow:

There's also my favorite BM project ever Leviathan/Lurker Of Chalice

Nice thanks. Yeah I've pretty much worked my way through the notables of NBM so now I'm just seeing what else I can find. I need more music that makes me feel like I'm trapped in an apocalyptic tundra or some shyt.

Sleep is probably THE stoner metal band. They also just released their first song in like 20 years.
