That apartment is in Greenwich Village, a prime NYC neighborhood in Manhattan.


I'd be more worried if that apartment was in Brownsville or the hood parts of the The Bronx for that price. ANY apartment in Greenwich Village under 2K is a steal IMO.

These comments are always weird to me, plenty of places have a nightlife and amenities. We overrate what type of amenities we want or need. If you have to scrape by just to live there or other highly expensive/desirable areas it isn't for you, and the area more than like isn't offering you a salary that you can't attain anywhere else with better living conditions. This isn't a steal either because the rent is probably in line with the cost per square foot for the area.

These videos just show the most extreme examples of terrible NYC apartments. Most of these videos are filmed in Manhattan. Rent is expensive pretty much everywhere in NYC but usually it's not nearly as bad in the outer boroughs.

Also, there's more space in the outer boroughs than in Manhattan.
