This too, I’m not really sure what the league can do. You can’t really make guys try hard if they want to be on some too cool for school shyt. It’s kind of embarrassing to be going harder in the summer runs than the NBA showcase of the best of the best in the game, but I digress.
Yeah, like some people have brought up here I think you really need to have a player or two in the All-Star game to really bring up that intensity now.
NBA should buy a bunch of celebrities seats at the All-Star game.
Coaches when selecting the bench players need to pull in two-way players or defenders like Dillon Brooks.
Let them be the villain on that All-Star court pulling up the heat and trying to shut down these cats right in front of some celebrity they trying to impress.
Then you hope the competition will step up then and it doesn't become a "we all just trying to have fun this weekend, it's not that serious" thing.
All-Star games in the past had players like a Gary Payton, Tim Duncan, KG, Jason Kidd, etc. who really cared about defense. They don't know how to play basketball without playing defense. You tell them not to play defense and they'll look at you crazy. That was probably Giannis earlier as well.
