Yeah they can fly but they're pretty clumsy fliers so they sputter around. Usually toward your face. Doesn't mean it WILL fly though. If you find one in your bathroom on the floor more than likely it won't fly.
If it's in a corner near the ceiling though

Tree roaches ...waterbugs....etc they're not the same as "cockroaches" as they do not cause infestations from unclean conditions. they come up from the root of big trees like oaks usually after a hard rain. even the cleanest and bug free of homes in the south will occassionally have one wonder in thru a drain or open door.
