The same thing happened with the dark knight returns . People wanted to focus on every little thing instead of enjoying the movie ( how'd he get back to Gotham , how'd his back get healed etc )

:patrice: Those were valid questions though. Especially the Gotham one.

shyt looked wack. It looks too dark. The costume looks way too dark and the guy playing Superman doesn't look right. The first Superman with Christopher Reeves is the best. They need to go for that universe and style. This new superman likes like has on some super dark Fishscale costume.

Not really . It's like asking how the hulk got to battle in time on a little ass scooter in the middle of a alien invasion or how killians plan in im3 would of worked seeing as how tony and Rhodes both knew that their was no mandarin . Or why would they call the Vice President to warn that the presidents in Danger and not a qualified intelligence agency. It's movie logic:jawalrus: I mean Bruce is a damn ninja and he's famous he might of had a sheik friend lend him a private jet :jawalrus: do we really need to see a scene of him flying back to Gotham

Not really surprised.

Superman just isn't a hero that works in todays culture. I`ve said it numerous times, we like good guys with some edge

Well, I always thought it was hard to do superman, because one minute he's suppose to be invincible, but then what's the point of a villain if nobody can beat him? But if you introduce a villain that can beat him , people get mad because he's suppose to be to powerful for that...

When I use to watch the Superman cartoon, I use to hate watching him get smacked around, but if he didn't get smacked around, you wouldn't have a cartoon to begin with..:russ:

Nolan directs this it's 99% at rt and right behind The Godfather on the top 250.:birdman:
I sense some sarcasm cuz if u are being serious u have nothing to go off.As grounded and humanistic as they are trying to make superman its still an extraordinary fable. What in nolan's resume leads you to believe he cud do tackle a high budget comicbook movie that deals with cgi/big explosions/hand to hand combat

maybe the movie sucks? :manny:

this is what i've been saying since this movie was announced. The fan boys went nuts because Nolan's name is on it.

Watch the movie and decide for yourself. Though the general consensus seems to be that it is mediocre. Meaning that some will like it, and some won't

I was expecting 80% at worst.:patrice:

fukking Spider-man 3 is sitting at 63%:damn:

Superhero movies will get some love regardless by fans of the series. So not surprised it's at 63%. Looks like this movie also getting the same treatment.

superman is a bland character, and snyder is nothing special in storytelling (good visuals, though). :yeshrug:

the difficulty level in making a good superman movie is abnormally high, and it wouldnt surprise me if snyder is not quite the one to do it

seems like people want critics to turn half their brain off when watching these movies.

They already did

:gag:

They have to make it good. lol. That move was another victim of bad casting, bad costumes, and writers thinking adding their own ideas to Superman is a good idea. Everything you need is already there. The story, the look, the origin, etc. All they need to do is film it.

He wasnt the writer tho that was nolan/goyer :pachaha:

Richard Donner did it 35 years ago :why: the bare bones of it is nolan had a fluke with batman, started feelin himself and like a one trick pony thought he could apply that shyt to superman too.But its looking like a miscalculation :ld:

This, if this movie is as bad as its being billed it will be a cautionary tale in what happens when an ego is out of control. They didnt need to radically tinker his origin story to appease moviegoers today

basically this.

skimming through the reviews, it seems like they focused more on epic action scenes rather than storytelling. Heck most even complain about lack of dialogue, character interaction and progress, inconsistent storytelling and poor acting.

I know most of the coli fam wanna just go see for the action, that's cool and all, but critics are there to judge the overall movie, they have a criteria that they do a checklist on, and then they make their reviews. I won't fault the critics, they're just doing their job. 60% isn't that bad. Just means that some will like it and some won't.

:patrice: Those were valid questions though. Especially the Gotham one.

They were only valid questions because Nolan insisted on making his Batman universe "realistic".

See...we comic book fans know that Batman, the character, is only allowed to even exist because his world is totally fiction and and thus not subject to the rules of reality.

There is no way that a Batman could exist in our reality. To try and distort source material in order to blend the two, could only result in the fukkery that people rightfully complained about.

That's where Nolan fukked up IMO.

Same thing with Man of Steel. Nolans hand in this could only yield the same results even if he only had a tiny hand in it.

Why? Because it's Superman. The character itself breaks so many of the basic laws of science that to try and do the same thing that Nolan did with Batman can only result in more fukkery.

I'ma gonna go see this shyt in IMAX 3D on Friday though :obama:
