:russ: Man that was cathartic as fukk, I didn't even think he would do some shyt like that.

there was a foreshadowing of this before, remember that hotel episode ?

the crazy mob lynched angel and then he was like :birdman: 'take em all' to that tentacle demon.

also while I never got into buffy I think angel fans should at least know who the characters are. theres quite a lot of interlacing in the first few seasons of angel and later seasons of buffy, and its cool to at least read up on. cuz otherwise some jokes and brief moments go over your head.

Angel is one of the greatest shows ever. Can't believe they canceled it, season five I remember hearing had the highest ratings yet too.

was that the dude that smacked up Lilah and had Wesley stalking Fred like an angry Suga Free?

Speaking of which, it's amazing how different Wesley turned out from his beginnings..... but how natural the progression was.

From :whoa: to :demonic:

Angel as a series fukked dudes whole life perspective up. lol

Yeah, he got Lilah beat by that rival lawyer Gavin. Gunn got contaminated and almost went Ike Turner on Fred too.

Watching Wesley change into a dark badass was one of the best things on the show. Whedon threw that dudes life in the furnace though :to:

Buffy's not a waste of time, per se... it's just that it really is a "Sign of the Times" show.

Hell, Buffy CREATED it's lane as far as witty dialogue, TV Team ensembles, Season spanning story arcs, swift mood changes to keep the viewer off balance and "anyone can die at any time" type scenarios go.

The only TV show I can say is more of a modern forerunner than Buffy the Vampire Slayer goes is the short lived show Profit, which set the tone for every "Bad guy is the star" show you've seen on TV since The Sopranoes and The Shield came out.

Only problem is, Buffy is SUCH a forerunner and prototype for a LOT of tropes that you've gotten used to that it seems old and dated.

The fact that the show was started in the mid 90s before higher quality filming techniques came about doesn't make it any easier.

If you're not a bit older and can appreciate things from that 90s+ time frame, a lot of it will make you more :rudy: than :krs:.

But even then it has it's timeless high spots.

Do yourself a favor and start from Season 2, though. You won't be missing much.

:snoop: sorry. Yeah. watch Angel.

I don't know ANYBODY that like the first half of season 1. If you enjoy it, it'll be solely cause-

look, man. For a good while, the show wasn't "Angel" to me.

It was The Cordelia Chase Show. :noah: :noah: :noah: :noah:

goddamn she was fine up until mid-season 4.

seriously. :wow:

but uh... yeah. once you get past the first half of season one, I promise you you ain't gonna be able to put it down.

makes me think of the ep where they've already started working at Wolfram and Hart and Fred is deathly sick. Angel has the whole of the company working on a cure.

Some lawyer walks into Wesley's office and demands something else. Then states

" :ufdup:the entire company can't be working on the (Fred) Burkle Case!"

Wesley's like ":comeon: Oh, I see." *calmly shoots the lawyer*

then he calmly asks his secretary to send him anyone else that isn't working on Fred's cure.

I doubt it was intentional, but I've always said Wesley was the precursor for Walter White.

Fred.
