Buffy didn't start getting real good until midway through Season 2. Angel was more consistent but the highs of Buffy...

- The ep where Xander had every chick in love with him.
- The ep where no one in Sunnydale could talk.
- Of course, the ep after Buffy's Mom dies :to:

are higher than Angel's.

-ep where doyle died
-ep where wesley kidnapped connor
-ep where the beast mopped up the whole squad
-ep where Illyria took over fred
-ep where cordy came bak and then died :to::sadcam::sadbron:
plus series finale

all were 5x better than those eps u spoke of :rudy:

Love Angel, but hated the way they played Gunn, first Fred mentally creeping on him, then he essentially kills her, making Wes to be the sympathetic one.

Pretty much the main reason why I have Buffy SLIGHTLY edging out Angel.

I thought Buffy had better villains than Angel for the most part. Seasons 2, 3 and 5 were :gladbron: when I first watched it.

I plan on watching Angel again soon so my opinion might change but they're both dope in my book.

Ive heard this a lot (buffys highs > angels highs) but this just tells me that most of buffy is meh monster of the week teenage drama type shyt. so when really good eps come in they completely murder usual ones

whereas angel never really dipped into terrible episodes maybe with one or two exceptions.

plus the whole noir LA crime scene to me >>>> high school in sunnydale

"Buffy" season 1-5 were classic. :wtf: people saying it fell off after season 3. Season 4 was :ld: and season 5 bounced right back.

The show fell off because Joss Whedon went to work on "Firefly" and left Marti Noxon to run "Buffy". Who was arguably the worst writer on the show. Season 6-7 were :snoop:

"Angel" is nonstop greatness seasons 1-5. Low key I got it in my top 5 GOAT show list.

And for the record Jasmine was evil.

They had that creature from the other dimension explain how their world fell apart because Jasmine got bored and bounced. She would've gotten bored with this world too, she was a goddess.

Man I need to run back this series. shyt was bananas. Doyle dying, the whole other dimension and introduction of Winifred, too much to name really.

The ep where Angel was trying to find out the demon's "home office" of Wolfram & Hart....and they take the elevator and it opens out into this world. :wow:

The ep where the kid was possessed by a demon....then you find out the whole ep the kid was actually evil, and trapped the demon. :wow:

Wesley betraying Angel and getting his throat cut....matter of fact, his whole arc. One of the best in the history of TV IMO. The villain that season was crazy too. Holtlz made a deal with a demon because Angel murked his family....shyt was crazy man.

EDIT:

The Beast. :wow:

The ep where Winifred was the only person with free will, where she was in the diner and Jasmine came on the TV, and the whole diner was like :blessed: and Winifred was like :whoa:

The only show that does :krs: moments as well is "Breaking Bad".

Im like the only person in the world who is angel fan and didnt like that episode.
that nazi allegory :what: doyle dying (good decision tho, didnt that actor od ?) :to: ...just an episode I struggle with when I rewatch angel.

now thats one of my favs. IIRC its the same one angel gets depressed over that fact, goes and fukks the brains out of darla, then in the morning has an epiphany and kicks her out :russ:

Yeah the fake Nazi shyt was kinda :what: but :manny: it was a solid ep that killed off a major character.

And yeah he was wilding out on drugs, that's why he was fired off the show. Then he OD'ed.

The Darla ep is the one after the "home office" one. And Darla says more or less the same thing Buffy did "was I not good enough?". :heh:

Charisma Carpenter though. :shaq:

yeah cordy and doyle pretty much carried first half of season 1 because almost all other characters were cartoonish.

its too bad because it always felt to me the first season was where they tried to be very noir-ish with the show, and I love noir. but characters and plot were just very infantile at first, too black and white.

then the characters and plot and themes became :smugdraper: but a lot of noir was gone...

:wow: at this dialogue from "Reprise", the "home office" ep in season 2:

Angel: You're not gonna win.

Holland Manners: Well... no. Of course we aren't. We have no intention of doing anything so prosaic as "winning."

[laughs]

Angel: Then why?

Holland Manners: I'm sorry. Why what?

Angel: Why fight?

Holland Manners: That's really the question you should be asking yourself, isn't it? See, for us, there is no fight. Which is why winning doesn't enter into it. We go on, no matter what. Our firm has always been here on Earth... in one form or another. The Inquisition. The Khmer Rouge. We were there when the very first cave man clubbed his neighbor on the head with a rock for stealing his dinner. See, we're in the hearts and minds of every single living being. And that, friend, is what's making things so difficult for you. You see, the world doesn't work in spite of evil, Angel. It works with us. It works because of us.

yep. it was a recurring theme with high ranking Wolfram and Hart employees.

Same thing happened when Lilah's sexy ass showed up after they killed The Beast to offer them jobs...

And it hapened to Wesley, too.... well it would have if the series would've gotten another season. He would have been stuck as a ghost in Wolfram and Hart's employ as the new liaison between them and Angel.

If Glenn Quinn (Doyle) fixed his act he would have came back as a villain but since he died they used Christian Kane (Lindsey) instead. Charisma, David and Christian were all good friends with Glenn and were uncomfortable with Doyle role being used by Lindsey.

Only time I got upset with the show was when they got rid of the cop Kate Lockley.

Season 2 of angel was prob one of the darkest seasons on tv. My favorite ep is when angel's heart goes cold and locks the employees of w & h in a room with darla and the psycho vamp lol.
