That’s crazy I was just saying the same thing, that obituary looked like a damn magazine lolIt’s crazy here for sure. These 2000s babies got the city on fire and it’s only getting worse.
Ngl that Jook obituary is the cleanest I’ve seen.

Yo Gotti Meets 1st Lady Jill Biden On White House Lawn For MLS All-Star Week![]()
Big Jook's funeral held in Memphis amid heavy police and security presence
A heavily guarded funeral service was held in Memphis for Big Jook, the older brother of noted Memphis rapper and CMG record label head Yo Gotti.www.commercialappeal.com
In addition to Spencer’s remarks, the service included the reading of a letter of condolence said to be from President Joe Biden and the Biden family. Yo Gotti is part owner of the Major League Soccer Team DC United and had met first lady Jill Biden in conjunction with a youth soccer program in Washington last year. Gotti also attended a White House holiday event in December.
I had no idea Gotti was tapped in like that...![]()
Once he got with Jay and Roc Nation, his whole career arc changed and bent toward that kind of high level networking. It's stunning how far he came.
So many of my boys just loves Dolph for being a "regular guy" (which I kinda read as stunted sometimes) ) but what they miss is how much a) that contributed to his death, and B) why Gotti keeps moving further up. They kind of revel in that, and I get it. Real street shyt and all that.
As much as he mirrors Jay in business and in kind of ideology, this is that classic Streets is Watching moment, "If I shoot you..." There's no more second chances, no club shootouts, no more shooting up vans and beating the case, no shyt you just get away with for being young and lucky. The thing is Gotti has been rapping about this moment his whole career, when he would be back in Memphis in handcuffs.
Gotti has so much to live for now, so much to enjoy, to work for, to work towards. Out in LA, at events in DC, running in powerful circles, houses in the Hollywood Hills, and now his brother executed in Memphis, in the classic movie/rap/real life third act development, of streets pulling you back in. That Carlitos Way, Godfather 3.
he now has to either take that hit, his own brother, killed pretty much in front of him --and just move forward, or he finds himself in that YSL territory where you are passing messages to third parties and trying to get someone dropped, with federal and local law enforcement looking right at you. it's a fukking wild scenario, and I'm sure he has good counsel on it. But, I'm not sure what I would do. Would my brother want me to risk everything I have and my family for a tit for tat killing? Could I live with myself if I fumble this now? Can I live with myself if I don't? and have all these nobodies in Memphis calling me p*ssy. He has to have a lot on his shoulders.

Oh wow me Jook and Beyonce have the same bday
Memphis has always been rough but it was never as bad as it is now...from other thread:
That is fukking wild.
snipers on the roof and helicopters. That's movie and cartel shyt for rappers/streets in Memphis.
I looked up the amount of killings in Memphis, and it is statistically very, very violent. 400 murders a year./population of 650,00. That has to be traumatizing and revictimizing a whole generation to violence.
for comparison, San Diego has about 70 murders a year/population of about 2 million.
