Question is does the state retry it?

I think their evidence is weak.
Honestly if they smart they play the long game. I’m not gonna be on no high horse breh knew how to make some catchy songs but he clearly a sociopath.

Only a matter of time before he back in a similar predicament or let’s something slip outside the trial

They won't just let him go.

Plea bargain is what his lawyers should go for. Plead for 15, he's done 5, serve 10. The defense has leverage now.

Prosectors should have narrowed the case way down, been done in like two weeks. Long murder trial are never good looks.

Juries get bored. Seen jurors in homicide trials bored and falling asleep. They are usually the definition of average people. They just want to get back to work.

they'll make adjustments and run it back again. i doubt theres going to be any pleas at this point since the cops think he killed a cop but they cant prove that

I like a lot of his music..he was really good

But he did this..and does not deserve to be free
soon as he gets out he better start recording day and night to pay for his future legal bills, the prosecutor can charge him again at anytime

I ain’t no lawyer but why would he plea bargain if it’s a mistrial? Don’t he get to go free?

There's state guidelines in Florida that may be different in CA, but pretty sure the state can retry at least 3x. But, they usually don't go more than twice. He does not get to go home yet.

The reason he would plea is because they will have info on how many jurors were between him and life in prison. Say it was only 2 jurors, who just wouldn't listen to reason. 10-2 jury verdict means he came within 2 idiots of doing life in prison. Would you want to risk your life on running that again? They will pick a new jury.

Now that both sides have played one round, they know the case better, both sides are bruised, and they may want to just resolve this. It's pretty common.

yes, he will until they recharge him
Gotcha, found this in the comments on a post. On ig

If the jury is unable to reach a unanimous decision, it is referred to as a hung jury, which can result in a mistrial. Here's what could happen in such a scenario:

  1. Retrial: In most cases, when the jury cannot reach a decision, the case may be retried with a new jury. The prosecution and defense will have the opportunity to present their cases again, and the trial will start from the beginning. The hope is that a new jury will be able to reach a verdict.
  2. Dismissal: In some cases, if it becomes clear that the jury will not be able to reach a unanimous decision even after repeated deliberations, the judge may decide to dismiss the case. This means that the charges against the defendant will be dropped, and they will not face further prosecution for that particular offense.
  3. Plea bargain: Following a mistrial due to a hung jury, the prosecution may choose to offer a plea bargain to the defendant. This is a negotiated agreement where the defendant pleads guilty to a lesser charge or accepts a lighter sentence in exchange for avoiding another trial.
  4. Retrial with a partial verdict: In certain situations, the judge may accept a partial verdict if the jury is able to agree on some of the charges but not all. In this case, a mistrial may be declared for the unresolved charges, and a retrial may proceed only on those specific counts.
  5. Impact on public perception and and resources: A mistrial due to a hung jury can lead to public frustration and perception that the justice system is flawed.
Additionally, it can be costly and time-consuming to retry a case, as it requires summoning new jurors, scheduling, and conducting another trial.

Ultimately, the decision on whether to retry the case or dismiss the charges rests with the judge, taking into consideration the circumstances and the interests of justice.
