I am 100% cool with people not liking this album especially if you don't like Westcoast gangsta rap. Not everyone does and that's perfectly fine. To each their own....

However, some of the posting in here seems weird. You have aliases in here making pretty much the same posts like someone has an agenda...You have a guy who clearly isn't from Compton pretending to be so he could bad mouth the album...you have posters in here saying because YG, a fukking gangsta rapper, doesn't understand technical aspects of music that you would only know if you went to school for music that the album is trash...then you got a guy who wants to downplay the album because his favorite rapper (Game) just put out an album at the same time and he doesn't want it to get overshadowed...

Just because we're from Compton doesn't mean we're fools. We can recognize quality music when we hear it, and this album is just trash. I'm glad this is flopping, it proves we're not supporting bad music

That soundtrack isn't a Game album is it?

I know The Doc 2 is easily better than this YG album though...

Yeah it's a Game album.

I also think The Doc 2 is better overall than this but I think this feels more cohesive/flows better.

overall the album slaps, but, on the deluxe version at least, falls apart and loses steam toward the end. he also should consider linking up with someone to help with hooks, those basic repetitive hooks are ok for a bit, it fits his throwback gangsta persona, but by the 5th song that has a 5 word repeated hook, i'm like

anyway, solid B+ from me, YG doing his lane well and making music that really provides an updated sound to an iconic late 80's/90 style. now schoolboy and nipsey gotta come thru and make it complete

Nah breh, Boosie should have been studying syncopation in between being in jail, being in the street and making music.
Personally I liked the way his last song sounded but was wondering if the tonality of the 2nd verse really matched the vibration of that base line
