Thereās so little patience in the NFL these days. People will point to Fields only winning 5 games so far in his career, but not look at the overall big picture (coaching, defense). Sure, he could play better, and heās been better each game this season. Coaches had him in cuffs the first couple of games and went away from what worked last season.
Troy Aikman started his career 0-11 and had 9 TDs to 18 INTs. Peyton Manning went 3-13 as a rookie and threw 26 TDs to 28 INTs. Could you imagine if Fields had that type of freedom without the constant wonder of whether heās gonna be around? His second season, he didnāt even get a chance to build off anything because the Bears didnāt have a first round pick, and they traded away their best defensive players, not to mention a new coaching staff.
