Ive watched a good amount of Penix film and theres a lot of issues with his tape

the main one - and its well documented on many scouting tape discussions - is that if you muddy the pocket his effectiveness takes a nosedive. he has issues throwing from various platforms and he is not a good outside the pocket

if you picking penix, you need a very good to elite oline play on obvious passing situations that can keep him clean, and dont expect many outside-the-structure plays like, say, Caleb does routinely

what worries me particularly - and this is my take on it - is that I saw similar issue with daniel jones pre-draft. great from inside the pocket, but navigating the pocket and pressure in his face really changes his play. not saying penix is daniel jones or anything, but just similar issues in their game

theres plenty of film, post injury to his knee, showing him making throws outside the pocket and eluding pass rushers. People like to nitpick but Penix has been lethal outside the pocket. He doesnt need to be a statue back there like Brady.

I didn't sat he's statuesque. I said his throws effectiveness plummet when he has to navigate the pocket and the make throws off platform. This was on full display against Michigan

I don't expect a winning season next year because up front on both sides of the ball we are still too talent deficient. Year 2 and Year 3 I expect a big leap.

Why not though? Last year they won 7 games, and it really should’ve been 10 because three were lost in the final minutes. This is a much improved roster across the board.

They were literally 2-3 wins from making the playoffs though. Never said they were Super Bowl contenders, but this team SHOULD at least be better than last season.

We won 7 last year with a QB you think is trash and Bagent.

We get a “generational” QB, upgrade at running back, get another #1 receiver, have another top ten pick, someone with actual experience playcalling as the OC and we’re not going to do better this year?

so Poles was getting raked by national media all week about not doing “right” by Fields when in reality he helped him land in the destination he preferred? Very few GMs would have done that. Poles knew Justin was dealt a bad hand and helped him out.

I mean, are you happy with the return he got back for Fields? That report coming out is more about deflecting how bad of a trade it was because he was getting cooked for it.

What's the schedule looking like tho? If the schedule is comparable to this year's you never know
