What’s the point then? The Bears have veterans on the team in their prime ready to win now. Are we supposed to sacrifice a couple of years because he just might be that guy in 2-3 years?

Keep in mind, he’s coming to a better situation than Fields where the Bears didn’t have a 1st round pick in Field’s second season, while Williams presumably would have a 1st round pick joining him on a team that won 7 games (should’ve been ten games).

Because if you keep fields you have to pay him too and he has all the leverage.

I dont really see the value in only looking at the #1 pick here - I think you understand my general point though. The hope here is that Caleb is a franchise level QB and would be here for a long time like franchise level guys tend to do. I dont think we are competing for a Superbowl with Fields next year, bringing in Caleb increases the ceiling of this team for years to come if he is who they say he is

I dont have any expectation that Poles should be responding to game commentary from someone like Chris Collinsworth and this idea that was put out there that Poles/Flus fed the media negative feedback about Justin seems very far fetched and doesnt match the things they have said about him

You got dudes in here now who aint posted once in the thread trying to guilt trip people who have watched every snap the bears have played for years like we don't have eyes as well.

Y'all shouldn't want Caleb. He is not a long term answer. If he was subject to the same level of criticism as Fields he would buckle. If as a fan base y'all want a QB pick Poles should trade down and draft Jayden.

Fields has put on Daniel Jones numbers and has legions of nikkas and pundits still acting like he the second coming. Where is this immense level of criticism at? people love him. He barely gets criticized even when he has a bad game.

Fields does not have die hard fans, you have disgruntled fans who routinely see failed team building with these bears teams and they felt bad for Justin cause he was put in a terrible spot ever since he was drafted, it’s more so anti bears leadership thing versus being super fans of fields, I don’t even know why you playing crazy about that
