Because if you keep fields you have to pay him too and he has all the leverage.

you want to pay fields 50 mill a year :mjlol:
You gotta word it differently breh.

Do you want to pay Fields 50 mill, have the rights to 2 to 3 elite potential players (MHJ+) on really cheap deals for 4 years + other assets.

Thing is....the Bears dont have to.

They only do so if Fields balls out next season.
Again just dont make it just a pay Fields vs. rookie contract Caleb. Cause with the proposed haul they'd get its far more nuanced.

Bears can easily get Penix in round 2 if they want a backup plan. They can have a roster so loaded that if Fields fails they can get a proven vet/great potential QB.

Trevor Lawrence might be available in 2025, Kyler Murray might be on the trade market, maybe Dak :yeshrug:

I love Caleb as a prospect. Think he can be great. However, a trade that nets you a massive haul puts you closer to a Super Bowl caliber roster.

Would you rather be the Bills with Josh Allen or the 49ers with Brock Purdy and a few HOF level talent elsewhere.

Bears dont have an Andy Reid to craft him into Mahomes. So Caleb w/ defensive HC is on the Josh Allen Bills track if it pans out.

You let Fields earn the contract in 2024....if they want to go that route.

The only reason the Bills havent hit a SB yet is because they got the baby GOAT standing in their way so that isn't exactly a good comparison :mjlol: and even still I'd rather have Allen because he is a legit top 5 or so qb just having him on your team gives you a window to succeed. Whose to say they can't get back decent compensation in a fields trade alone? A superstar qb the most valued position in american sports imo, you have to keep trying to hit till you get one. Fields would be fine if they didn't have the first pick, but they do so :yeshrug:

Like I really need ya'll to go look at fields 4th quarter numbers and convince me why it should even be a convo for keeping him with the first pick. they are literally bottom of the bottom. Dude a few hours ago was talking about Caleb being a front runner thats literally Fields whole time here. He has like one or two GW drives and a myriad of game ending ones.

Plus Fields gets injured every year.

If we draft Caleb and he balls out, he can paint any bodypart of his that he damn well pleases imo. :dame:

No one can predict the future but comparing Caleb crying after a game to Manziel doing xannys and blow is a wild leap. A grown man crying about some shyt important to him shouldn't be demonized at all.

nobody gon care if this nikka is weeping weekly why sashaying around boytowns town if he balling. Bears fans are half retarded anyway so who cares what a lot of them think. We had dudes for years saying Rubbishky was being held back by the Bears...these meatballs don't know what the fukk they be talking about :mjlol:

:manny:

I've had these same type arguments with Tua and Chase fans when they were coming too. I said Tua was late throwing into windows and Chase had bad hands. Both groups keep pushing back with similar points to you. Believe it's a leap if you want, but I'm not just throwing out random nonsense. It's too easy to get under his skin and you can see it when he's making back foot throws in a clean pocket or rolling out INTO pressure.

:mjlol: It's smokescreen season im not believing anything fields will get trade to the Steelers or giants and the bears will draft Caleb
My fellow bears fan brother…..please don’t get caught up with this team like that , just enjoy the ride and let’s see how it goes ….remember its room for us to trade down , trade fields and draft the white boy drake mayes , it’s the bears bro, I kinda trust the gm , let’s just see :heh:

Yeah. It's similar to how I saw Johnny Manziel. The numbers are there. The ability is there. There's something off upstairs though and I don't think Eberflus' regime is the one to correct it. He purposely gets off schedule on plays when he doesn't need to especially in "big" games. Chicago ain't the place for someone who needs to be a front runner.
When you got a defense giving up 40 every game it's only logical the QB will go overboard looking to make the big play every time. That can be coached out of a player. Hell we just saw it with Mahomes this year where he learned to check down and be willing to punt now that he has a D worth trusting.
