I just have this feeling that no matter what happens next season, it'll be a disaster. If we draft Caleb, the Bears will regress and he won't look like he did in college while one of these other rookie QBs and/or Justin will take off. If we keep Fields, Caleb will look like the second coming of Mahomes.

Was just telling someone this. Whatever we do will be the wrong choice.

The Bears have won the most games in league history lol. Nearly 800. Or they did until covid, I think Green Bay passed them.

That’s what I’m saying. If he’s better than Fields, I expect the Bears to make the playoffs or at LEAST finish above .500 NEXT season with him as starter. The Bears were already trending towards being a better team, and he would be coming to a better situation than Fields ever had.

It would be great if he was great out the gate, but I dont know that its realistic to expect for every rookie QB to come out like CJ Stroud

What’s the point then? The Bears have veterans on the team in their prime ready to win now. Are we supposed to sacrifice a couple of years because he just might be that guy in 2-3 years?

Keep in mind, he’s coming to a better situation than Fields where the Bears didn’t have a 1st round pick in Field’s second season, while Williams presumably would have a 1st round pick joining him on a team that won 7 games (should’ve been ten games).
