Even Mahomes is struggling with lack of weapons and Nagy :damn:
Mahomes is 2x MVP, and most everyone considers him the best QB in the league by a wide margin and he's struggling with lack of weapons. Meanwhile, a Dollar Tree Mahomes is supposed to come in and be the savior for the Bears.

I don't think savior is the correct perspective. If he can be AS GOOD as Fields its a net positive as he is a rookie and you can spend that money elsewhere. Fields production is basically near the middle of the pack. It wouldn't be hard to replicate.

DIFFERENTLY OPPOSED TO WHAT?

THE OFFENSE CHANGES EVERY WEEK

Would y'all say the Bears offense has looked like it's put Justin in the best situations to succeed this season compared to last year after that Washington L on Thursday Night Football?

I thought it's been well documented that they went away from what worked last season and tried to make Justin more of a pocket passer.

Isnā€™t Fields still on his rookie deal? He was the 11th pick while Williams would make more as a #1 pick. Maybe Iā€™m not understanding, but letā€™s say the Bears chose making all the moves that improve the teamā€™s depth while keeping Fields, and he still didnā€™t show anything. Why would they be obligated to pay him $40M/year?

They fukked up his footwork so no :russ: This team is succeeding off pure talent , not coaching adjustments imo

You have to pick up his option next year iirc.

They donā€™t have to pick up his option. Just see what he does next year. If he plays well, re-sign him. Otherwise, he can sign with another team and we could sign another QB.

Naw I dont think you get me they have to make a decision on his fifth year option by may. Its either they draft a qb or they pick up that option they cant wait. Afaik

Theyll be trading him for a 2nd rounder most likely if they get 1OA. It makes almost no sense to hitch your wagon to Fields if your Poles and have the option to pick a qb this year. Now if they didnt have CAR pick yea theyd run it back with fields but they do so :yeshrug:

I wouldnt mind having a qb that is so inconsistent personally but Im coo with whatever. Games will be won on D with this team anyway

I know they have to decide on his 5th year option in May, but heā€™s only going into his 4th season. Sure you could risk losing him in free agency if he plays well, but I feel like he likes playing for the Bears. If he doesnā€™t play well with a boatload of talent surrounding him, then you let him walk and sign/draft another QB.

Iā€™d much rather just keep Justin and get multiple first round picks and even a top tier impact player (think last yearā€™s trade, but on steroids), rather than draft a new QB and trade Justin for a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

NAH YOU EITHER COMMIT
TO FIELDS OR YOU DRAFT A QB ..

YOU DONT PASS ON A QB THIS YR
AND PASS ON FIELDS OPTION AS WELL.

THATS INSANITY.

You crazy if you think he wouldnt bolt after miraculously finally playing like a top ten qb after the bears not giving him the 20 mil or so extension. Would be comically disrespectful.

If they keep justin theyll extend him if they dont they wont.

I get it folks got love for him but I cant really see how you look at his numbers, the actual games and go ā€œyeah Im passing up on another qb when I already have my pick anywayā€

Is getsy terrible? Most certainly. Heā€™ll be gone too.

You can take Williams and another high impact player in the 1st and also one with the fields trade pick. If he closed out this year going nuts the convo would be diff but its been more of the same. Its the best thing for him and the team to move on imo

If it were ME, Iā€™d definitely commit to him and build up the rest of the team. I just donā€™t see what the difference would be if you draft a rookie and do the same thing 3 years later when/if it doesnā€™t work out due to lack of pieces vs letting Fields play out his 4th year and if you canā€™t get him back (or donā€™t want him back), just sign a bridge veteran QB and go from there.

Iā€™m just looking at it from a team aspect. Is Jalen Hurts THAT much better than Fields, or does he have a deep ass squad? Mahomes is the best QB, but struggling due to a lack of receivers. If you have a good ass team, all your QB has to do is be average. SF got to a Super Bowl with Jimmy Garapolo. I think Fields has top ten potential that can be unlocked with more talent around him. A rookie QB, even if heā€™s the next Patrick Mahomes (which he wonā€™t be) isnā€™t gonna take this team (as constructed) to the next level.
