Poles is sticking with Justin
I dont see that happening, unless Justin lights it up the rest of the year. I think Poles has already decided on this too

I do like the idea of using the draft capital and capspace to build out a team that can compete next year, which the Sweat move almost hints to - that would mean keeping Justin though

Line is coming together, Getsy running the ball more, ideal situation for Justin to get back and take off.

I still believe in Fields. I think he's capable in making the tweaks he needs.
I dont think we can bank on Justin fixing things if we have the opportunity to have two top 3 picks

Imagine keeping Justin and he still struggles, and Caleb Williams turns into a star

you think Poles is risking that?

I rather us draft Marvin jr and add Another weapon on defense, the most complete elite pass rusher that we can find, than start over again at qb, as a coach you can’t give him tape of Aaron Rodger’s and say do this :russ: This coaching staff failed Justin and Moore imo

there is zero chance Poles keeps this staff around to coach his hand picked QB

I also like the idea of trading down the pick, building a crazy war chest of draft capital and getting MHJ, a pass rusher and OL help in this draft

but I am also terrified of the prospect of Justin not taking more steps and Caleb or Maye being superstar QBs

If there is no further jump Justin is gone. Do you think we pass on Olu? Go Verse or Newton after taking Harrison.

I feel very certain that QB is Poles #1 priority in this draft

I actually think he takes his QB with our higher pick, and then trades down the other for more picks - unless you can get QB/MHJ outright

Justin was never put in a situation to succeed. He finally got a #1 receiver this season, defense was completely gutted last year, and still ranks in the bottom 5 (was dead last a season ago). The multiple injuries, and people really expected him to win games? Everybody and their momma know the coaching has been idiotic. But hey, if you think we should draft a QB (yet again) with all the holes on this team because that'll fix everything :yeshrug:

Quite a few QBs who are getting praised now make a bunch of mistakes, but they have a team around them to mask their issues.

I fukking love watching a guard get to the second level and make a big block :banderas:

my concerns with Justin have nothing to do with losing games, its specifically is related to his issues: holding the ball too long, missing open receivers, not getting through his progressions properly, slow release, slow with his footwork, doesnt make anticipation throws

do we really think Poles is going to risk his job rolling the dice Justin drastically improves here? a guy he didnt even draft? rookie QB contracts are gold in this league too, its so much easier to build a roster around a rookie QB deal - Poles isnt passing this up, especially if he thinks Caleb/Maye are the real deal

anyways, Justin is going to have a shot to make his case when he returns. The line is undoutedbly playing better, the running game is there

the BEST CASE scenario for this team is Justin showing enough to cement himself as the franchise QB - I dont WANT to start over with a new QB, but he needs to show more, regardless of the external factors. He looked horrible again in that first half against Minnesota, I really dont know what people here arent seeing with his massive limitations
