TBH best timeline is bears/panthers lose out but jf looks good somehow lol. trade him and draft one of those qbs on a rookie deal. trade down far enough to get best OL. I think DJ moore is good enough as a one and you can find another mooney easily. Draft best center. do whatever after that.

Oh and fire these tards flus/getsy soon as season ends.

my concerns with Justin have nothing to do with losing games, its specifically is related to his issues: holding the ball too long, missing open receivers, not getting through his progressions properly, slow release, slow with his footwork, doesnt make anticipation throws

do we really think Poles is going to risk his job rolling the dice Justin drastically improves here? a guy he didnt even draft? rookie QB contracts are gold in this league too, its so much easier to build a roster around a rookie QB deal - Poles isnt passing this up, especially if he thinks Caleb/Maye are the real deal

anyways, Justin is going to have a shot to make his case when he returns. The line is undoutedbly playing better, the running game is there

the BEST CASE scenario for this team is Justin showing enough to cement himself as the franchise QB - I dont WANT to start over with a new QB, but he needs to show more, regardless of the external factors. He looked horrible again in that first half against Minnesota, I really dont know what people here arent seeing with his massive limitations
Fair enough. I'm just saying there are plenty of QBs with some of those same issues. You can count the number of elite QBs on one hand, and even the top QBs would probably look like shyt on this team.

Just for shyts and giggles, I looked up how many games of 3 interceptions Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen had. Lamar has 2 games (one he threw 4 interceptions) and they won both games. Josh has three games and he's 1-2 (one of those games came this season in year 6). Maybe if Fields had more freedom to make plays, he would look like a different QB? Seems like the media has been ready to get rid of him since he was a rookie. When the overall team is good, mistakes don't seem to matter as much.

hes in a tough spot now, where he is just running out of time now in Chicago - he would have to really show something the second half of the year for Poles to forgo taking his hand picked QB, especially when the word is that two of them (Caleb & Maye) are blue chippers. I am not writing Justin off, he obviously has some great skills and traits, I just think all the circumstances point to Poles moving on and starting fresh. If he keeps Justin, and he doesnt take a big step next year - Poles is likely shown the door. Poles drafts a new QB, he is gauranteed at least 2 more years to develop the team around that QB. It just makes all the sense in the world for Poles at this point.

the absolute best case for this franchise still remains Fields balling out, us getting two top 3 picks, and trading down for a HUGE haul with one pick, and then grabbing MHJ with the other. Then youre drafting a pass rusher at lets say 7-11 range per the trade down, grabbing a OL piece in the 2nd per the trade down, and adding another 1st next year, and prob another 2nd, and some 3rd/4ths in the mix too (and probably a talented player back as well)

Imagine walking into next free agency with:

MHJ, a pass rusher drafted around 7-11, a starting C from round 2, another 1st for 2025, another 2nd in 2026, another 3rd in 2025 and lets say a DL/DE piece from the trade back too

and like 90-100 mil to spend in FA

^^ that is the dream, it was always the dream with Justin stepping up - there is still some time, but its my strong belief Poles already made up his mind on taking a new QB

I dont think this team is all doom and gloom btw - so lets talk about a legit BUILDING BLOCK we have on the roster right now - TEVEN F'ing JENKINS

:wow:

:whoo:

I fukking love watching a guard get to the second level and make a big block :banderas:

and maybe my favorite of all, look at the nastiness here :ohlawd:

tevin jenkins has done little to instill confidence that he can be healthy for a long time based on his track record starting from his rookie year.

Justin needs more time. How do you value him as the guy last draft enough to completely ignore Stroud then turn around months later and bush him for another rookie QB?

Show some conviction Poles, build the team up around QB1. Depending on how this season finishes up, you can just give him that 5th year extension and continue to look at him

I honestly cant tell if this is sarcasm - but I dont think any team thought Stroud would be this good - certainly not projected as high as a Caleb Williams was at the time of last draft

He went 2nd Overall, Justin wasn't even drafted that high. Nobody rated Stroud as a better passer/prospect than Justin Fields? Make that make sense to me

Do you even remember this past draft cycle? Overall, people were down on the QBs, and eyes were on the 2024 QB class, which was being projected as historically good. I was comparing Stroud as a prospect to Caleb Williams - but to answer your question, there was plenty of doubts around Stroud - I mean he didnt even go #1, a historically small QB went at the top pick - people were not salivating over that QB class. Obviously Stroud has been amazing, but lets not rewrite history here. We can still ask how Poles missed on Stroud while understanding he wasnt rated as a sure thing at the time of the draft.

Do you think the Bears are going to be in a position to potentially have 2 top 5 picks again? This is a unique position and the QB class is supposed to be great. You want to risk passing on that to see how Fields develops? You think Poles is going to let his job ride on this? This is clearly going to be his best chance to acquire a franchise QB. If he sticks with Justin, he might not even have a job by the time the 2025 draft rolls around.

People were even saying that Fields would have been the #1 rated prospect if the was in the draft with Young & Stroud - you're rewriting history here. There was also more optimism about Fields taking a leap this year, it hasnt happened yet. A lot changes in a year - Fields is running out of time.

If the line holds up then I don't see how Fields doesn't ball out despite Getsy's idiocy.

I'm of the camp to keep him since I truthfully believe the coaching has been the issue. Trade down, bolster the team with half of what you get, and set the other half for the following year.

what does a clip made yesterday prove here? Im not even sure what point youre trying to make tbh
It's Poles job to make tough decisions. You're bringing up consensus and what fans and others around the league were saying during draft time, when at the end of the day, it's Poles decision. Call it revisionist history, but ultimately, he passed on Stroud who right now looks like a generational HOF franchise QB

To be fair, the doubts about Stroud were mainly about some stupid wonderlic (or whatever) test that he did poorly on, and the fact that Bryce Young was seen as someone who could make something out of nothing when a play breaks down. They were saying CJ didn’t use his legs much in college. I don’t even know if that’s true since I don’t watch college football, but that’s what they were saying about him. Nevertheless, he still went #2.
