Makes sense.

A lot of Front-7 defensive players + o-line brehs won't even be in the trenches in youth football. Micah Parsons was a (very good) running back even in high school.

The kids with elite OL/DL/LB potential are so big/fast, you almost HAVE to play them at RB/FB/TE etc., until their size and strength catch up to their raw athleticism.

Shedeur's personality might work for a kicker or CB....but a QB (ESPECIALLY A BLACK QB) needs to be a leader. Take the blame whether it's your fault or not. Prime raised his QB son to act like a hired mercenary CB...not a franchise QB.
My thoughts exactly

What was really damning for Deion was late in the first half when Shedeur scrambled for a few yards and was tackled, then he let 15 or so seconds elapse off the clock before calling a timeout.

It was almost like he was looking around for someone to do something before he finally remembered “Oh! I’m the head coach, I should call TO”

That was completely embarrassing. Add into his cluelessness in general with in game stewardship the fact that he’s completely ignored HS recruiting, I think it’s pretty clear he’s not planning to be the HC this time next year

the thing is in college you don't even have to be an X&Os head coach and can just be a CEO and leave that to the DC and OC like his college coach did. BUT you have to be an elite recruiter and have elite recruiters on staff. the portal is feast or famine and it looks like colorado is starving. high school recruiting has to be your bread and butter and it isn't even close to being that for prime.

to quote kirby smart

"Guys...if you don't recruit, there is no coach out there that can out-coach recruiting. I don't care who you are."

"The best coach to ever play the game, better be a good recruiter because no coach is going to out-coach players."

"It's 25% evaluation, 50% recruiting, and another 25% is going to be coaching, but if you don't recruit, you've got not chance."

The thing about Kirby Smart though is he is a ceo type coach but also an excellent defensive mind. I don't think I've ever seen a college coach make as good of half time adjustments as he does on defense. shyt is amazing.

“Acts?” Nah, nobody “acting” for that long.

That’s exactly what he wanted. Raise his sons’ and Travis profile and get a major pay raise…he thought he was gonna come in and be “Deion” in this coaching ish…nah son. The best in THIS biz recruit and do it with passion and nonstop. This nikka thought it was gonna be like Steve Spurrier, come in have a high-flying offense and golf/do commercials the other 6-8 months…nah son, it AIN’T like that
The hardest part of being a college coach is recruiting. It is tiring, stressful and difficult. Prime ain't tryna put in that work at this point in his life. This shyt ain't that serious to him.

yeah like kirby said in that video you have to make huge sacrifices and end up prioritizing these recruits and their families over your own. prime is not capable of prioritizing anyone over himself or his family.

The problem is his coaching background comes from youth football and it shows. My experience with youth football in Dallas is exactly what we are witnessing.

The extreme forms of favoritism for certain players, only value and coach the skills positions, and a complete lack of discipline.

Deion wanted and valued the CBs and WRs. But those positions need help from the guys in trenches in order to be successful.
This is youth football everywhere
