You can only coach what your talent is. And now in the era of the super conference, competition more fierce than ever
That loss was not a talent issue. The coaching is failing the talent. No adjustments. Zero run game, they don’t even try. Vanilla offense with zero adjustments. They literally played into the hands of the blitz. Send all your receivers on 10+ yard routes with zero outlets or hot routes and wonder why Shadeur has no time. Then on the defense you’re playing a true freshman qb and you don’t have any defensive schemes to take advantage of a young qb. No blitzes, stunts, disguised coverages.

The thread title is accurate. Deion ain’t coaching shyt. Wanna make some easy money just fade Colorado the rest of the season. At some point Shedeur and Travis going pack it up and start preparing for the draft.

Of course the ATL
Nah... Cause the first half was more a matter of Colorados offensive line not giving them a chance to move the ball and be competitive. Which made their defense have to work harder.

And 7 of that 28 came off a pick 6 and another 7 could have been a pick 6 going the other way for Colorado.

This is definitely one of those games where the score doesn't tell the true story

You doin alotta Juelzing rn my boy. Nebraska got conservative in the 2nd half but Colorado got outplayed and dominated in the first half. They also struggled at home vs NDSU, a high quality FCS team, but a FCS school nonetheless. This team isn’t good breh, I’d be shocked if they won more than 4 games

An egomaniac and attention whore like Prime was never going to make a good coach. And every flaw of his is accentuated by the fact he openly prioritizes his children/favorites over the team.

When all the flash of rappers on the sidelines, ex-pros giving speeches, drip, dancing, performative blackness, Televangelist speeches etc wore thin, you could tell he was building nothing of substance over there.

The problem is his coaching background comes from youth football and it shows. My experience with youth football in Dallas is exactly what we are witnessing.

The extreme forms of favoritism for certain players, only value and coach the skills positions, and a complete lack of discipline.

Deion wanted and valued the CBs and WRs. But those positions need help from the guys in trenches in order to be successful.

I don’t follow college football as much with the portal and transfers and shyt. But what is the end game for Deion here - is he just coaching until his sons graduate? Is he trying to be a long term coach for Colorado? Whole setup seems like a gimmick to me

EDIT - I see both of his sons graduate this year. Is Deion still coaching this team next year?
Image-wise, he's in a bad spot. If he leaves after this year, it's "he didnt really want to be here, he just stayed until his best players left". Colorado fans/alum would def turn on him.

If he stays next year, they are likely trash at QB and othrr areas so then it's "he can't win without his kids".

Wow. This is super true and I never thought about it like that.

Youth ball values the skill positions. Kids who are faster and shiftier than others at rb or wr, or kids who are elusive at qb, and CB is like a skill position on defense which a wr can possibly play both ways.

But it's not valuing the trenches bc most kids, size wise, are not physically developed for line-play at that age. The youth football skill in the trenches is not going to match the flashy skill positions

You have to remember that the entire point of all this was to get his son drafted at the top of the draft as a franchise QB. And that’s probably going to happen TBH…

He never intended on turning this organization from bottom feeder into a contender. That would take several recruitment classes to do, and we all know damn well he’s gone the moment Shedeur is drafted, let’s not kid ourselves.

It’s clear why he never focused much on defense and trenches. He wanted players around that highlight his son.

I don’t think that’s the case. Deion played in the NFL at the highest level, was an analyst for a long time, and has an experienced staff around him that KNOWS football.

To say that he didn’t build the line because he coaches like he’s playing pee wee football is wild. This ain’t some nikka off the street volunteering in his spare time. This is Deion Sanders….he KNOWS the trenches are important.

It’s just that you need several years to build up an OL/DL program that’s attractive to new talent and effective at this level. He never planned on sticking around that long so he focused on impact positions that would benefit his son and raise his draft stock.
