Exactly. You can’t stay on top for so long without altering and adapting to trends like Drake has done. They can’t sit there with a straight face and say For All The Dogs, Honestly Nevermind & CLB are pop albums. He’s a rapper who makes hip hop & rnb music that’s it. The passive aggressive hate is corny but not surprising from someone like Mos.

talib kweli been making a fool of himself for a minute 2. Blackstar broke my heart :mjcry:

Okay, Drake is a greater emcee than Mos Def though. Drake gave Common work on Stay Scheming. Drake did so many great things. Mos Def was dope when he came out. But when he force fed himself those tubes down his throat on video - and he wasn't in war. I looked at that like self abuse. Mos Def also came out as "Conscious" but what's good about him performing MF Doom songs in Europe? Getting paid off another man's art? And that's a new move. Same with this swipe at Drake.

First off what the fukk are you talking about? Second off Mos first album clears Drake's whole catalogue

I'm not mad at this. It's clearly stating that it is MOS doing MF Doom covers. He's not misleading anyone.
Would we be mad if Ari Lennox does a one night show doing Lauryn Hill covers? Bryson Tiller doing one night of Usher? Not a big deal.

it is a big deal :what:

this guy made black on both sides :dahell:

u talking about ari fukking Lenox this aint shea butter shyt this iz hip-hop.

I'm speechless. They should sue him for every penny. It might have 2 do with him not being able to perform for being in the red? but thats the lowest of the low Brooklyn scumbag Juxx activities.

In Europe they aint gonna bang like that and those fans would prolly eat it up. But MOS is from the school where if he did that in NYC I would hope some old school gladiators would come out of retirement give him that Q-TIP treatment on stage. thats a violation.

I hear you. Now it could all be approved by MF Doom's estate. But like you said - Mos Def IS from a certain school in rap. No biting is a Hip Hop principle. If he does it and ALL the money goes to the estate then cool.

I don't know all the details but it just sounds bad to me.

I'd never want to hear a fraud conscious rapper who didn't pay child support even rap anything of Doom - who in a rare feat actually represents the "sacredness" of hip hop.

The point is people do covers all the time. It is very unusual for Rappers to do them, but it was a one night event and he clearly stated that it was Mos Def covering MF Doom. And maybe it was something to celebrate MF Doom, who knows the context.

Everything I said I said. Yes, Mod Def's early work is better than Drake's version of hip hop - but long term I feel Drake is a better human being AND actual emcee than Mod Def. For the Doom show look at the article I posted.

Drake being a good rapper does not mean he isn't also Pop rap btw.

I have no clue why his rap skills keeps getting brought into this when Yasiin didn't say Drake couldn't rap.

Doja Cat can rap too, she is a pop artist

Drake can rap and is a pop artist. One does not make the other invalid

She asked about Drake and dude gave his opinion.. he didn't just randomly bring him up..

Honestly I think Drake's career is satire.. like a prank on the culture by execs.. like on some how corny can we make a top rapper before they turn on him type shyt..

Damn that was some hateful shyt :dead: but that's how corny the nikka is to me..

One of life’s mysteries to me will be how such a lame individual like Drake managed to become the reference for cool for millions. Boggles the mind. Are people not seeing what I’m seeing? Like a black Ross Gellar but yet Ross seemed to have more swag
