Everyone's favorite Filipino jukebox was the last notable person to use that sound with that Finesse joint :manny:

Y'all think it's got any untapped potential? Or is it pretty much run its course, save for the occasional throwback?

Personally, my opinion is y'all NY nikkas could use it as layup to make music that's actually listenable again and connected to your roots :ld:
Take it as a gift from me :youngsabo:

Plus, I'd like seeing a return of actual vocal arrangements in popular music. This era of mumble singing and struggle voices really overstaying its welcome :beli:

But in the meantime, I'mma let this shyt ride :lawd:

No, the culture of dancing and partying that made it popular doesn’t exist anymore. And most old sounds don’t come back around again other than the occasional throwback song/project or sample.
True, but folks love when the koreans do it :manny:

Plus, I'm not expecting 1:1 recreation of the sound we know. More curious to see how it'd sound contemporary style. Keeping in line with it's original intent

Someone like the weeknd probably could pull it off. But like you said, party culture ain't the same. Which is unfortunate cause the alt r&b wave along with trap influenced r&b got the game oversaturated. Would love to see some more lively music instead of depressing shyt one minute and nikkas and hoe shyt the next :francis:
