I'm a woman and I'm an unapologetic football fan, both of the NFL and college football. While I am not condoning the domestic violence incidents that have occurred recently (especially since I have been a victim of domestic violence), the piling on is getting out of hand. What's stunning to me is that most of the piling on is being done by those who don't watch football in the first place!!

Yep. Just like the dopey war on women the left is using the NFL to start that shyt up again.

Shefter REALLY went in on the league when Ray Rice only got 2 games. He went on a 2 day diatrod on the lack of leadership and responsibility of Goodell and blah blah. Hanna Storm had an editorial segment of sports center the other day and said that she had to explain what ray rice did and all this other bullshyt.

shyt has gotten way out of control

Hannah Storm had to tell her daughter why she couldn't have Ray Rice on her fantasy team. The horror. Her daughter is 15.

You guys have your heads in the sand. I don't have an anti-football agenda, I'm just observing the facts. When Nike and Bud are preemptively shytting on your partnership, which has been mutually beneficial forever, you can clearly see the negative momentum has reached a fever pitch. When the media is no longer sweeping arrests and crimes under the rug but raising a consistent enough stink about it that teams and the league are revisiting every decision they make and changing them completely, you've reached a dangerous point. When significant magazines and shows are dedicating covers and panels to football and it has nothing to do with the actual product, you're in a bad place.

The fact they haven't forced Goodell out is baffling. You have to placate the mob in this situation, or they'll stay on your ass that much longer, with that much more vigilance.

Also, women and liberals watch football. What the fukk?

Too many people playing fantasy, too many people gambling, football will be fine and always will be.

Football is already starting to decline at the pee wee level. In my area, participation is at an all time low. A lot of kids went into basketball, track and soccer, and baseball signups are up and this is in the hood.

To be honest I think @Walt has a lot of you cat's in past tense. Football could very easily fall out of top 3 of sports. Baseball while declining still has a lot of old money to spend. The NBA is at a popularity level nearly matching the Jordan era, and soccer is not going away, especially as the US has more international transplants than ever.

The problem is that the NFL is becoming more known for off the field foolishness than the product on the field (which isn't great so far). What makes it worse is that the NFL is under increasing pressure by the media to answer for it's general indifference. I boggles my mind why NFL owners are not teaming up to fire Roger Goodell, he screwed the pooch royally.

Football isn't going anywhere, its become religion in certain parts of the country...

The south has football stadiums built for high schools...let me repeat that...multi-million dollar stadiums for 15 year olds to play football...

Football is by far the biggest sport in this country and the people currently rallying against it are irreverent because they do not impact ratings...No football fan in this country gives a fukk about what feminists, fags and extreme liberals think...

Change is needed, the leagues image has taken a big hit but this current bullshyt is a small dent to the shield...

u dudes don't pay attention or something ?

Goodel is the one that opened the can a few years back when he came in on some "Head Honcho" shyt pointing out what he felt was WRONG with the game, penalizing players, and making changes to the game on a grand stage.... all the critics did was take what he started and add their pizzazz to it....

have any of these sponsors pulled out tho? I know Radisson did, but other than that, that's it. The rest are just pointing the finger for PR purposes.

Fans havent stopped watching and that's all they care about.

Goodell will lay low and this will all blow oever.

He should of laid low years ago and this would of never came about...

It was his brash penalties against players for loud hitting and his Media orchestrated narratives about what he felt was wrong with the game that opened this can of worms....

Long as the league got mostly white QBs, is played on Sundays, is aligned with gambling and got fantasy football. The game ain't going no where and will stay popular with most Americans. Now the market will eventually become saturated. Cause this shyt ain't going overseas like baseball and basketball.

There's too much money to be made from football and its viewers in my opinion. Between college football and professional football, too many powerful people invest in and earn money off ventures surrounding the sport.

The current "crisis" isn't significant enough to even put a dent in that. The viewership is already at historical highs and it'll probably increase this season.

stop overreacting... NFL is doing fine.
the product has sucked for a good 3-4 seasons now tho, other than steelers/ravens I cant recall one game this season that wasnt a chore to watch. And whats happened to the hype men? there was a time where if an analyst or pundit missed it someone on the field would tell you they were the best but everyone is so vanilla now. Who exactly is the best WR, RB or QB atm there was a time this would be undisputable and sold like crazy. And whats happened to the wave of "black" QBs other than cam they all seem :patrice: vick this should've been your time

I'm glad Schefty went in on Goodell especially after he tried to lie about the NFL not seeing the tapes. Dude was legit like :wtf: . His sources are obviously impeccable and for Goodell to lie like that made him and others who reported that the NFL saw the tapes look bad. It's one thing for the NFL to force ESPN, CBS, and Fox to take it easy on them and "force" them to not go hard, but messing with the AP was a bad move. The media, especially the AP writers, don't like to be called liars. Goodell fukked up with that one bad. Peter King has completely proven himself to be a clown in my book. That fat mufukka would do anything to keep his NFL credentials and his going back on his reports as well that the NFL saw the tape was completely :scust:
