The object of the sport is about scoring more than the next guy, and offense is inherently more valuable than defense. So Harden being the stronger offensive player by order of magnitude has to hold some significance in a Harden/Wade comp...

To me the gap in offense isn't large enough to offset the gap in defense, especially when Harden's O game always takes a dive in the postseason

Goat? cmon son, his peak isn't even better than Brandon Roy. He was a bad 3pt shooter earlier on to the point where he would avoid them. Yes he played hard, was a good help defender and drew fouls at a decent rate. What he did to Dallas in 2006 i will not forget. But he's also played on some really good teams and a great franchise.

I will say this. As far as elite players go, Wade I think was underrated in his prime. He really balled out when healthy and he was a real all rounder. He could score, facilitate, defend and do it all at a high level. I think his physical style of play cost him in the long run but he was a blur more often then not.
It was the knee injury in college that cost him. He got the oldschool surgery.

Harden is better at basketball than Wade but Wade is deservingly ranked higher historically because Harden has way too many meltdowns in the playoffs with no playoff run that equals his peak regular season output...

Wade has several meltdowns himself, he's not That Guy. You do realize that the only playoff W's in his career sans Shaq or Bron were over that Hornets franchise, quite possibly the worst organization in basketball history. You know that, right?

Michael Jordan

LeBron - was drafted as a SG but has alternated between PG/SG/SF and sometimes PF

(Does Curry count as SG or PG?)
Jerry West/Kobe Bryant
D-Wade

The most obvious comparison is Wade and Bryant. Both very athletic, great defenders. Wade was better inside the arc and Kobe was better from 3. For all the shyt Bron gets, he's functionally a better shooter than either...higher percentage inside and outside the arc.

Kobe was more graceful and could get his shot off on anyone while Wade was physical, like a Mack truck going into the lane.

Both had shades of MJ but neither was as freaky of an athlete as Mike.

Wade and a young Vince Carter, and much moreso wade, are the only guards I have seen that have a first step and reckless attack like Jordan/Worthy...

I like a young Wade, he's easily a Top 5 SG for me, he suffers from the same fate Jerry West and like another poster stated he needed a 1a....
