Hell of a player I still felt Kobe was the best player during and after the Olympics. I just loved on defense the way he could play the passing lane. Then the on ball defense get the PG to turn the guy then wade comes with the double steal from behind. Very high IQ. 3rd best SG of all time to me.

I still believe we would've met Cleveland in the ECF that season had Bosh been healthy
They would’ve met Cleveland if Bosh stayed healthy and if Whiteside (who was still motivated at that point) hadn’t gotten hurt. They had Amare but he was washed, so they were forced to start 6’6 Justise Winslow at center in Game 7:hhh:

Basketball is special. The size of the court, and the lack of pads or helmets give fans the most intimate experience of a team sport that exists. Because of the different styles that Basketball allows for, players develop their own distinct identity and signature styles through their creativity, flare, and athleticism.

Although no player succeeds alone, the scoring volume and two-way nature of the sport give individual stars a nearly unprecedented amount of control over the flow and outcome of the game. For this reason, players are constantly compared to their peers and to the legends of the past in order to answer the most highly contested question in the sport: Who's the greatest to ever do it?

For many, the question is redundant, they believe in only one right answer: Their answer. Others might have their own personal stance, but acknowledge one or two alternatives, but I believe that there's much more nuance to the question of greatness, and more answers to it that you might think.

By my count there are eight players in NBA history that have a substantial claim as the GOAT. It's a subjective thing though, I can't give you a definitive answer, all I can do is make the argument.

So today, I’ll be making the case for Dwayne Wade, as the greatest basketball player of all time.

Kobe was a tad better but, Wade was still a dawg. That's why Bron is forever a hoe to me. If Kobe and Wade played on the same team, it would have been impossible for anyone to beat them. How you beating a team with Kobe giving you 30, embarrassing you all night with multiple jumpers in your face + Wade giving you 25, hounding you all night with steals and blocking shots all game. NBA is lucky Wade didn't hit up Kobe instead :patrice:

Yea they built that chemistry during the Olympics man. Like you see Kobe hounding the ball handler Wade in the passing lane or on the double. Just different styles. They would’ve dominated any back court in the NBA IMO.

The Wade disrespect in this thread is crazy. He was never appreciated in his day and was a top 5 player at worst when healthy from 05-10. I remember ranking him above Bron in 06 and folks thought I was crazy but then the playoffs hit and he went Ultra Instinct in the finals :wow:

True story. Bron wasn't always considered the best. In that 2003 to 2006 period, LeBron, Wade and Carmelo were like Charmander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle on the Pokemon games. It was a matter of personal preference. But by 2010ish, Carmelo was an afterthought, and it just became Bron/Wade/Kobe.

Damn OP said this is “his” GOAT and folks straight up came in to tell him why Wade is either overrated to them or really wasn’t that guy lol

Let the man live. Wade was a great baller. Good to see someone else get praised lately

Harden's offense was so much more advanced, is my basis for saying he was better at basketball. Significantly more prolific scorer. Significantly greater shot creator. Significantly greater playmaker, significantly more developed passer. His mastery of control of tempo and pace were at a scale Wade never reached...

Bare minimum Harden was a more lethal offensive player. I'm not even sure why guys argue otherwise other than the fact they just flat out dislike Harden, Wade was more likable...

I've seen this Wade/Harden debate come up here multiple times before, and its always funny how the ppl advocating for Harden never want to have a discussion about defense.

Harden will never do what Wade did in the 2006 and 2011 finals. He won't ever even sniff the finals

No, Harden can't do what Wade did in '06. This is why Wade is historically over Harden, I have no issue with this...

You gotta pump the brakes on '11. If Wade was really Him, Miami had a 2-1 lead and he had three games to stop the bleeding and didn't do it once. I'll happily rehash Wade's performance in the clutch in those last three games of '11 if that's where you wanna go...

His '11 Finals performance only gets boosted because Bron was bad. By itself it's not a legacy moment and if it is, it's Wade Stans like yourself who set the bar low for this nikka...

Breh stop this madness.

I'm a Bron Stan and Wade was part of my Big Three of childhood with him and Kobe. It ain't about Bron, breh is my guy but thinks Harden is the #3 SG :skip:

We disagree on this but at least you understand that this isn't about Bron. These dumbasses on here act like dudes can't like players independent of each other...

My opinion of Wade has nothing to do with my like of Bron and has everything to do with Wade...

But bro I did say I have Wade over Harden, I just don't think Wade was better at ball...

I've seen this Wade/Harden debate come up here multiple times before, and its always funny how the ppl advocating for Harden never want to have a discussion about defense.

I concede Wade was the better defensive player. Do I have to implicitly state that?

The object of the sport is about scoring more than the next guy, and offense is inherently more valuable than defense. So Harden being the stronger offensive player by order of magnitude has to hold some significance in a Harden/Wade comp...
