Nah I agree with meech, yea its similar in some aspects but the diffrences are still obviouse imo especially with the combat:
shenmues combat has alot of depth like vf, yakuzas combat is simpler and more user friendly.

Sega has released part one of a series of three new developer interview videos for Yakuza 5 featuring series general director Toshihiro Nagoshi, producer Masayoshi Yokoyama, and Sony Computer Entertainment director of Third Party Production Gio Corsi. In it, the trio discuss the game’s theme, scope, and answer some of the questions from the fans.
Yakuza 5 was previously planned for release on PlayStation 3 via PlayStation Network in North America and Europe this summer. The game has since been pushed to fall 2015.

“Unfortunately, it’s a little later than we would’ve liked, and a few weird development bugs that popped up in localization caused the delay,” Sega said. “Without getting too technical, there were just certain parts that didn’t like switching the Japanese text out for English, and we had to actually search through the source code to find a fix, taking more time than we expected. But! Everything is more or less back on track.”
Yakuza 5 first launched in Japan in March 2012.

Those activities including taking pictures in photo booths, mastering Taiko Drum Master in the arcade, spending thousands of yen to win a Hatsune Miku or NiGHTS statue from a UFO catcher, gambling, drinking, cavorting, hunting bears, dancing, drifting in taxi cabs, and more.
Yakuza 5 is due out by the end of the year in North America and Europe via PlayStation Network.
