Its supposedly the fusion of two names and yes as far as we can trace no cacs with my nameThat sounds interesting that all the cacs with your name died off.

I don't either , but the only way cacs are going to give those reparations up is if we take it by force
Change it to something Igbo, Yoruba or Ashanti
Fon or Yoruba if he's related to the south of beninHe is Jamaican so Benin would be more accurate.
Me and my mother been chopping it up about this for a good year , and we're definitely boutta do that . shyt feels crazy dwelling these streets with a name provided to you from slavery , how the fukk the vast majority of nikkas walking around with an European last name smh shyt is evidence that we have damn near zero sense of identity. We haven't come to a conclusion what we want to change it to yet though but we def in the process of doing so . This thought ever come through ya heads before ?

Meh seems pointless to change it imo
If you want to change your name just out of principle, do you though. To me, slavery is part of our history and our given names factors into that. Changing your name to an African name, is trying to change your history and almost like a slap in the face to your ancestors.
That's silly breh. Africans are the oldest race of people on the planet and our history is way more than just slavery. Before you were forced to have a European name, you had a traditional African name, traditional African language, and traditional African religion.
And I'm pretty sure if our ancestors knew what was about to happen, they would have slaughtered every single European that dared to step foot off those slave ships
The way I see it is that AAs are our own tribe with our own distinct history. Part of that history is slavery and our given surnames is an extension of that. I'm not saying to take pride in our surnames like Cacs do obviously. They are European names but our given names is a reminder of our history and something that makes our tribe distinct from other tribes in the Black diaspora. When I hear the name "Joe Jackson", I know that it's a brotha and we share similar histories. We come from the same tribe and culture. When I hear the name "Kwasi Asamoah", I know dude is black but we have different histories and come from different cultures, etc.
Let's use the proper language breh. You weren't given a name. You had one forced on you. The same way you weren't given English or Christianity. It was forced on you, and if you didn't accept it, the consequence was death.
So if you're argument is you'll accept your slave name as a cultural identifier, you must also accept your slave religion (along with the white Jesus) because it was given at the exact same time. Matter of fact it wasn't until Africans were "converted' that they were even allowed to have a European name.
And you can be your own tribe and not carry around the name of your oppressor. It just as silly for an African to be named Joe Jackson as it is for us to be named Chow Yun Ming.
