Jericho took years to get the strap. He had to put in a lot of work. For him to come out and say give the title to Ryback just because they can build a new star just seems counterintuitive. I would expect him to go for the guy who has the stamina, skill etc. to last in the company for years. Not just the next big guy.

He's over though and if it is all about the cash :yeshrug:.

what they could do (even though it's highly unlikely) is have the Rock (if they can get him short notice) interfere in the match and Rock Bottom Ryback and cost him the title.
Next night have the Rock cut a promo saying how he wants to face Punk at the Rumble and "the Rock need Punk to hold onto that belt until the Rock whoops his monkey ass and takes blah blah" type promo. Where even though he did something a heel would do can get tweener heat.

through out the time have cut going at Punk...

when Survivor Series comes along have a triple threat match with Cena,Punk, and Ryback.....have Lesnar interfere which could lead to a in. Ryback/Lesnar match (which if Lesnar leaves having him lose can put Ryback way over)

Meanwhile have the Rock go over on Punk and have him either rematch with Cena :rudy: or face :bryan:
nah suhn...didnt Goldberg just sign a legends contract...have him cost ryback...wrestlemania Match right there

He went from #1 face to #1 heel while remaining champ over the course of a year. :wow: How many times has that ever been done?

Which wouldn't be happening if not for a certain Bonnie Hammer's insistence that Raw go 3 hours. It wouldn't be that good, but not the worst ever.

Also, Punk is top 2 in merchandise sales, so he's in the same boat as Cena. He makes money for them that way.

As for Jericho's comments? Midlife crisis. :yeshrug: He's got the tattoo and everything, and he's had a clear focus on trolling the public and kowtowing to the decisions of WWE for the past few years. He's clearly misrepresenting what happened to Goldberg in WCW (Newsflash: Goldberg's momentum didn't stop because he stopped beating everybody, it stopped because after he lost, they immediately started booking him like complete morons, which didn't exactly cease until late 2000. Also, if a guy can only get over by beating everybody, is that someone you really want as a top guy? He's gotta lose at SOME point) and the Punk thing feels more and more like sour grapes every time I read it. AND we're not factoring in the fact that Ryback's unproven in the ring, and every mini test he's been given going toward that hasn't exactly inspired confidence in that ability. You're going to invalidate months of long term booking for THAT, just on the prospect of building a new star? Hedge, please.

I'm actually just kind of sick of hearing Jericho talk in general even since he released Undisputed. He's pretty much looked and behaved like a jackass in public since it's release and this is just another example of that. You had a great run, please retire for good already and front your shyt rock band.

Oh, and pertaining to Ryback, his push and unproven guys getting huge pushes and top spots, I'll just say this: Remember Vladimir Kozlov in 2008. Remember how that "worked" at Survivor Series that year. :scusthov:
