It’s also surprising because FX rarely cancels shows that fast. They let underperforming shows rock for like 3 or 4 seasons
Yeah and if the show is considered good they’ll let it run its course
The heck happened here

Had to lower expectations a bit when I found out it was exclusively streaming on Hulu and not airing on FX.

Probably the complaints from the trans community
There were complaints?
They seemed to be bending over backwards to include trans men as being part of the surviving male population and kept putting in lines where people would say Yorick isn't the last man or that all men are not gone from the planet.

And I really don't care that this show got canceled because it was pretty bad.

Biggest mistakes the showrunners made were:

- Making Yorick into a much bigger unlikable douchebag than he was in the source material.

- Making Agent 35 be such a bumblefukk who was not nearly as capable as she was in the comics.

- Expanding the roles of Yorick's mom and sister when they were both ancillary characters in the comics.

- Focusing so much on the bootleg Meghan McCain character.

That last one for sure. I guess now that the shyt's dead I can get in to spoiler territory. In the comic if my memory serves correct, the big bad ends up being some rogue Israeli agents dead set on capturing Yorick. I think they were scared to put Israeli anything in a negative light on TV for obvious nefarious reasons so they wanted Meghan McCain junior to eventually play the role of the main antagonist trying to foil Yorick and the crew. Dumb as fukk overall. They could've just used a different foreign nation if they were afraid of being called anti Semitic.

Lol so the whole show was made by women? No wonder it was complete shyt :russ:

Hope to see a reboot in a couple of years, the book is fantastic and deserves better.

The fact they canceled it even before the season ended and didn't wait a few months after the fact, has me thinking it really wasn't drawing much of an audience. Especially compared to what the budget might have been

The long road to get the show on the air didn't do it any favors, as the post-apocalyptic angle has been in a lot of shows. Certain elements of the series definitely gave me TWD vibes, and the fact the show hasn't been great makes it hard to stand out in an era with so many other options.

It's 3 episodes left, which I'll ride out with because I'm a completionist :francis:.
