The fact they canceled it even before the season ended and didn't wait a few months after the fact, has me thinking it really wasn't drawing much of an audience. Especially compared to what the budget might have been

The long road to get the show on the air didn't do it any favors, as the post-apocalyptic angle has been in a lot of shows. Certain elements of the series definitely gave me TWD vibes, and the fact the show hasn't been great makes it hard to stand out in an era with so many other options.

It's 3 episodes left, which I'll ride out with because I'm a completionist :francis:.
Plus they don’t own it. Disney/ FX is paying the WB for it so they will be quicker to drop it.

This is what I was thinking. This show was in pre-production before the Fox/Disney deal so I bet Disney was not that interested in keeping this show by their biggest competitor.

They fukked up, badly. Budget was clearly stressed to its limit. You can't be making a post apocalypse on a mid budget. All they ever did was block up some strett corners. It was wack.

They wanna keep Y a useless man child like in the novels.

Which is such a bad move. Your main character can't be so completely incompetent and unlikeable for television.

Then, you have the show probably doing wayyy too much... Way too fast..

They probably could of focused on Y survival in a desolate wasteland for a lot longer or Agent and the geneticist journey to San Francisco.

The shows was just unsalvage bad when it tried to do things it didn't need to do... Like US government and politics with having way too many side characters.

Should of just work within its budget better, but at least the terrible handling was made apparent now instead of later.

The US government segment was hot garbage and nobody wanted or needed to see that.

How long did they think they were going to keep Diane Lane around, even at her age
