how many Nopons do I have to talk to for Poppi to get level 3 wisdom? Been on chapter 4 for a minute. I had some fun tho. I took out all the wolves that surround the man eating glenn unique beast.

Just hit Uraya. Man this game is fukking excellent. Some of the best story telling I've seen in a minute. Easily more compelling than Zelda's.

Affinity is raised by using a Blade more and by staying close to them in battle. The higher the Affinity, the stronger the Blade becomes.
Affinity can also be raised indirectly by sending Blades on merc missions.
As far as Ether....think of it as money that can only be spent on Poppi. Also all of her upgrades are kinda like computer parts
Her "Energy Converter" determines the parts she can use. Some cost more Ether to equip, so upgrading this fast is wise.
Her "Role CPU" would determine if she's a tank, attack, healer, etc.
Her "Element Core" determines what element she is. She starts off as Earth, remember?
Her "Arts Cards", "Skill RAM", "Special Enhancing RAM" and "Skill Upgrade" all determine what abilities she has. You can make her accuracy higher, increase her block rate, make her strong against specific enemies (insects, aquatic, beasts, etc.)

I mean....I don't disagree but I'm pretty numb to it. This game is heavily influenced by MMORPGs and I played "Final Fantasy XI" for like 11 years....the RNG (random number generator) aspect of those types of games is a given.
In this game's defense, it's honestly not that bad compared to a game like "XI".

I've been on a bad streak with that shyt lately.
Just go to Argentum talk to everyone on the first floor up to the deck. Mostly nopons then fast travel to the bottom and do it again. There’s like 20-25 nopon each run.

So I have 19 Common Core Crystal should I just buy in half with Rex and half with Nia and get it over with or should I hold on to them and try later?
Just open them all. Split them between Nia and Rex however you want but even if you get plain Blades you can use them for merc missions. Also like someone else pointed out, even the plain ones have skills (Botany, Water Mastery, etc.) that help with other things in the game like opening treasure, doors, accessing secret areas, doing side quests, etc.
Even if the skill level is higher than any one Blade (for example. Lock Picking Lv. 4) you can use any combination of lower skill levels to hit the 4....so 1, 1, 1, 1 or 1 and 3 or 2 and 2, etc.
Also as you raise your merc levels you gain access to more missions and can increase how many Blades you have in reserve. I'm about to hit Level 4 in merc missions.
