The clock seems oppressive at first but there are lots of ways to push it back, even after it counts down there's another time which will reset it.
ID actually love to see you stream it on iron man if only to see you get crushed :banderas:
I just finished a Commander Ironman run and it wasn't too bad (on PS4)

2 Psionics
2 Specialists w Guardian and Threat Assessment
1 Sniper
1 Ranger

Squad for the end game, pretty unstoppable

it's not too bad once you figure out how infiltration works

Made no difference. Sure once you fully infiltrated something the missions were passable but you were still always outnumbered 5-to-1 plus the timer and lack of bringing back resources.

The resource trickle in Long War is what burned me out more than anything else.

Spent weeks trying to get a fukking officer corpse.

if you 100% infiltrate an 'extremely light' mission, it's 6-9 enemies. that's not too bad for a 4-5 man squad. you just really gotta pick missions that don't expire before you can infiltrate a decent sized squad

the timer is pretty mellow in Long War, but reinforcements will come if you take too long. damn Dark Events are stacking on my ass though

I still haven't got my Advent Officer :mjcry:

Long War 2 has you running 1 or 2 man teams a lot too. With the way missions can stack up on you, you've got to take risks from the strategic level. Its just.... tiring after a while.

Even if you get good at them, its just a chore after a while.

I just skip a lot of missions, and try to deal with them one at a time. maybe I'm doing it wrong

Yeah, you skip a lot early then right before or around tier 2 its pick your own adventure, but it just.... the pacing never feels right. It stops being fun, in spite of all the abilities, options, and gameplay changes. Then you do everything right, and get dealt a shyt hand anyways. The rewards for winning SUCK 9 times out of 10. The penalties for losing, while not as steep, are felt on the tactical and strategic level in ways that are just baffling.

That's why I'm just waiting on the expansion right now. They seem to have piggybacked a lot off of Long War 1 and 2's ideas and learning experiences.

Been watching Christopher Odds video playthrough. I'm mad I'll have to settle for the PS4 version.

Ironman runs are the only way to go.
