Stan war aside I'm confused as hell with the naming of these consoles.

Xbox One S, X, Series X. Now I understand how parents used to cop the wrong system back in the day.

The naming system is not that hard breh. One is current gen, Series is next gen, S is lower tier, X is higher tier.

I expect ps5 to be 399/499.

This will be the best holiday for gamers in a while. New RTX cards, switch, and new consoles with great pricing options.

PS5 = 449/499.

Sony isn't trying to shave off $100 for a disc drive that costs them 5 dollars breh. Remember, Sony is in this to actually make money. Microsoft is trying to get market share. They have two different objectives from the onset of the next generation.

Why wait when everyone expects 500

Xbox wanted to force Sony to drop at 600 and undercut to 500 like Sony did last generation. Whose picking up a xbox for the same price Sony system? Unless they know it’s 400/500 for the ps5 that’s why the series S is “leaking” now.

Sony will sell more regardless but do they want to lose any gamers to the series s?
