I literally just checked and a 500GB Xbox One S is $100 to trade in at Gamestop.
1440P to 4K upscaling, the same things PS4 Pro got trashed for is...being praised 4 years later.

Going off of the Nintendo Switch which was $299 in the states, $399 over here, we will see $399 as the CAD price.

Hilarious that it’s come to this. nikkas went directly from stanning 12 TF to 4 TF without missing a beat. Their new savior is now the Series S, a console with less power than a PS4 Pro. But but but these teraflops aren’t like THOSE teraflops!!!!111 Pathetic.
Tflop comparisons between this gen and next gen are irrelevant. Next gen architect can do far more with less teraflops, this has been explained in detail.
People are missing the point of this system, the series S isnt for the hardcore gamer. This is aimed at parents looking to buy their kids the cheapest next gen console, kids who might not even have 4k TVs in their room.
They are aiming for Nintendo's market as a budget console.
The series x is obviously the console marketed towards the older gamers who care about shyt like expensive 60 inch 4k televisions with home theater setups. It will be the same price as the ps5.

It's a cheap gateway into next gen, perfect if you have kids that want the new console but you aren't trying to spend $500 on one gift this holiday. Nintendo's market basically.
I was always gonna get a ps5, but this would be great for my 9 year old and he's not gonna give a damn about no 1440p vs 4k.
Series s is going for that secondary console spot even if ps5 ends up being more popular than the series x, it's a great strategy.

Breh, the demographic you described, has had plenty of time to buy a One S or an X at the same or lower price point for several months now. Everyone’s been home since March, whatever market there was for casual gamers has been exhausted, who’s this mystery parent who’s been biding their time since corona started, waiting until November to buy a “next gen” console that isn’t even next gen? You say they don’t care about 4k, but they care about RDNA2? And casual gamers can easily get a One X for $200 on Swappa or a One S for $100
