X-Men spinoff
The New Mutants – a film whose troubled production dates back to 2017 – looks like it is about to be released digitally.
Eagle-eyed fans perusing the list of titles available to purchase on Amazon were surprised to notice a price tag had suddenly become attached to the
Disney film, which stars
Maisie Williams,
Anya Taylor-Joy and
Stranger Things actor Charlie Heaton.
The film, directed by Josh Boone (
The Fault in Our Stars), has been described as a horror movie set in an institution for young people with mutant abilities.
Unlike other films delayed by the studio, though, including the live-action remake of
Mulan and Marvel film
Black Widow,
The New Mutants was not handed a new release date.
While the pre-order option is still available in the UK – for £13.99 – it has been removed from the film’s Amazon page in the US leaving its fate in the air for the time being.
Considering the studio is yet to give the film a new theatrical release date, it seems like the pre-order option is proof that
The New Mutants will be available to watch at home in the near future.
