Marvel...whatever they do with X-Men will not disappoint.

Maybe some sequels or shyt down the line yes they'll be some turds...but I trust them to have a dope intro.

The best part about X-men with Marvel to me is we’ll finally some classic storylines come to life and much closer to source material.

I mean I get some folks loved X-men 1 & 2...... maybe 3.

But correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t remember them stories in the books.

Can someone post a panel page from the comics that happened in those movies?

Maybe it’s just me but I’m kinda done with writer and directors taking these properties and scrapping the source shyt and doing their own thing that’s non canon.

“Hey Joe,

Let’s make a Spider-Man and instead of him being in NYC..... we put him in S. Korea where PP works at a media New Reportor on assignment. He meets a Ukrainian last named Stefani (a created character who is gonna be a cross between Jessica Jones and Felicia Hardy) over the N. Korea testing nukes accidentally hits some falling meteor that contains symbiots.

It lands in S. Korea and starts changing people and all of a sudden SM has to fight/swing his way through Korea trying to stop it

Oh in the end after credits when PP is back in the US, he’s on at a diner with Aunt May and he sense a robbery close off and rushes off.... leaving his cloths in bag in an alley.

In said alley a short order Cook named Cass (who was just screamed at by his boss) angrily goes out to take trash out.

Then we hear him step into something squishy and the camera pans down to see the burgundy ooze coming out of PPs bag.

Then final shot of Cass is him smiling and his eyes turn red”

Maybe that’s a great movie, maybe it’s a shytty movie

But shyt like this has been happening for years.... far too long and I’m just ready for canon shyt to be presented in movies for awhile.

I'm actually cool with them making stories not directly from the comics. My issues are: A) Them fukking up the characters they put into the stories. B) Them trying to include pieces of canon that have no business in the story

No where near the same. DC didn't establish a whole universe without Batman in it from the beginning. All they'd have to say is Batman been in Gotham the whole time. Explaining one person being gone isn't the same as an entire population of people popping up out the blue.

Actually..... it is and can be.

And yes.. actually they did...... MOS came our when Nolan Batman was still alive and kicking.

What they did was just retcon and appropriately shift or adjust it so it could be the same Universe

Let not sit here and pretend if Nolan and Bale decided to make more movies they was gonna include themselves in that world when they or mainly Nolan said he wasn’t interested in that direction

Cuz when we watched the cartoons and a worldwide threat occurred did we wonder on Spider-Man “Hey why ain’t F4, DD, IM always helping him?

When you play Spider-Man later this year on PS4 are you gonna ask “hey, where Luke Cage?”

i remember spiderman crossing over... but wasn't the x-men cartoon self contained? were there ever any references or allusions to the greater marvel universe or any of the other big marvel superherores?

not easter eggs but actual references.

Those movies were never meant to be a shared universe though, Marvels were. I don't count Nolan Batman any more than Burton Batman, anymore than all the other Superman flicks. They stand alone.

I already agreed they'd have to retcon for it to work. My stance is X-Men is too big of a franchise with too rich a history to just shift and adjust into this universe. You have to make major adjustments to even make sense. I'd rather have a 2 universe collision event.

With that said, I'm glad they home and I'm riding with Marvel regardless. Just throwing my opinion out there in a good discussion.

Not trying to see a Disney, wise cracking Wolverine

Well they probably won’t need or have that as long as they have a wise cracking Gambit and the TRUE wisecracking Rogue right beside him like in the comics.

He can continue to me the same level “wise cracks” he’s always already been making in all the X-men movies

Exactly. It would be a quick fix to a brutal problem. Quick and modern. You could then show later on dudes like Logan were rare and simply wanted to be left alone ( hence why he wasn't around in Infinity War etc). Or all the chaos of Infinity War allowed him to break out of the Weapon X program. Maybe show his cell/chamber cracking with explosions taking place.

Plus you do the Iron Man treatment and not get caught up in an era that doesn't feel out of place to the audience.

You could then show Magento slowly working up the resentment during the registration act in Civil War (maybe show a clip of him seeing the requests on TV and it's just his helmet and he pounds his hand).

Then like you said....the infinity stones create the mutants/activate the recessive gene.

Dudes like Apocalypse and Sinister would be a challenge though for sure.

They could just say that Apocalypse has been hibernating for thousands of years. As for Sinister, they could just have him operating in the shadows and laying low unbeknownst to the rest of the world at large.
The biggest question on my mind is which X-roster or lineup they should go with. My vote would go for either the OG, triple-OG X-men as teenagers, or to go for the 70's Giant-Sized X-men lineup (they can leave out Sunfire and Thunderbird though :camby: ). A lot of people also want the 90's cartoon lineup. There are too many characters and you can't please everybody.

Kevin Feige Addresses The X-Men’s Potential Place in the MCU, Says Marvel Isn’t Currently Working On It

CS: I know the Disney deal is a long ways away, so you can’t talk specifics of that, but a big conversation among fans is how something like “X-Men,” where supers are ostracized, could exist in the same universe where The Avengers are by and large celebrated. Obviously they’ve co-existed in the comics for decades, but as a fan do you think those two worlds could be reconciled in a more grounded cinematic universe?

Feige: You’re right, it’s too far out to talk about whether it will happen of not. We’re not working on it in any way, shape or form. We’ve got five films on the docket we’ve already announced that are taking a big percent of our time. But I will say to your very good question that if you look back to Phase 1 and after “Iron Man” was released and we announced our upcoming films, one of which was “Thor,” people said, “How in the WORLD can you bring in a Norse god who flies with a hammer into the world you’ve established of Tony Stark and Stark Industries?” That was sort of the reason we made the “Thor” film the way we did, was to ease character into a world together, even though they might not understand each other and might have trouble getting along at first, that’s the fun of it. But tonally there’s always a way, and as you said the comics have been navigating it quite well for half a century.

Yeah I think as fans we've been spoonfed the Fox mediocrity for so long we're going to need to hold their feet to the fire and have a decent compromise we're all not going to get what we want.

@Norrin Radd and dudes who want things a certain way truth to be told I have my preferences that differ but as long as it's dope, respectable to the source material and is a great movie IDGAF.

We've been waiting for so long now the anticipation is killing us!

And Kevin is lying his ass off. He's got storyboards and shyt in the early planning stages.

I wouldn't say it works better as a separate universe. I would say the X-Men and Avengers traditionally don't interact with each other like that. Avengers don' GAF about the mutant plight, and Cyke don't care about no Avengers. So I would like the see X-Men as a part of the MCU, but just on it's world like it is in the MU. Just how Gifted is to the x-verse, how Cloak & Dagger, SHIELD, Runaways and the Netflix are with the MCU. Maybe a couple of characters interacting, some references but overall....nah.

I think the problem is do you reboot the X-Men, and if so do you age up or down?
