I like this idea. They could have a Hydra faction that existed and operated post-WWII. Reveal that Hydra ran concentration camps around the world that killed many innocent people, including Magneto's family. Have Magneto meet Charles in the 90s, and the rest will be history.

For the MCU X-men treatment, I would make mutations a rare and semi-recent phenomenon. Have them be an extreme minority with only a handful in existence initially. In the beginning, Xavier and Magneto should be only ones who know the truth about the X-gene. The writers could show that Professor X has been using his telepathic powers to wipe people's memories and hide the truth about his school (and about mutants as a whole) from the world because he thought they weren't ready to handle it.

However, some past traumatic event involving one of the infinity stones can rear it's ugly head. Maybe some kind of radiation explosion involving one of the gems can mark the birth the X-gene (the initial radiation victims would remain human, but their unborn future kids would be affected). What could happen is that the mutants who were born right after that incident will eventually get old enough to have powers, making it impossible for Charles to telepathically hide everything. This would force him to go public with the X-men and the school.

They could explain that the original 5 X-men have been training in the mansion ever since the beginning of Phase 2, but didn't get involved in any fighting because they weren't ready for the field yet (and because of Xavier's powers). Logan, Storm, Nightcrawler, Colossus, and the others have always existed, but don't know the origins of their powers. They won't find out that they're mutants (or even know what a mutant is) until they eventually meet Charles.

Exactly. It would be a quick fix to a brutal problem. Quick and modern. You could then show later on dudes like Logan were rare and simply wanted to be left alone ( hence why he wasn't around in Infinity War etc). Or all the chaos of Infinity War allowed him to break out of the Weapon X program. Maybe show his cell/chamber cracking with explosions taking place.

Plus you do the Iron Man treatment and not get caught up in an era that doesn't feel out of place to the audience.

You could then show Magento slowly working up the resentment during the registration act in Civil War (maybe show a clip of him seeing the requests on TV and it's just his helmet and he pounds his hand).

Then like you said....the infinity stones create the mutants/activate the recessive gene.

Dudes like Apocalypse and Sinister would be a challenge though for sure.

Most that fall under the deformity route end up morlocks. If they have powers that they can hide they either don't announce it or go the xmen route. Deformities with powers can go morlock or X-Men, but there's more morlocks than xmen
I'm talking general mutants and why normal people would fear them.

Major problem is explaining the difference between Superheroes and Mutants. I mean Hulk could classify as a Mutant and they already have a mutant on their team (Scarlett Witch) who's looked at as a Superhero. If the government hates Mutants, shouldn't they hate the Avengers as well?
How do you explain discrimination against mutants in a world where Super powered people are loved. It never made sense in the comics and it won’t in this universe, where a majority of heroes could fall under the mutant label.
This is easily explained and has been done many times. Xavier and Magneto argue about this all the time. Mutants are usually considered an evolutionary upgrade or aberration. Xavier want to coexist like they do with heroes, Magneto thinks their a superior next step. Nobody scared of being replaced by heroes, they're either accidents or created. You can't just have a Cap or Hulk randomly born into your family. Their powers often activate tragically and uncontrolled, It's the whole reason for the school.

Humans like super powers they can manipulate and control. Knowing your son could walk in the room with glowing eyes on some "Magneto was right, you humans are the past" got people :whoa::hubie:

Sidenote: Hulk could never classify as a mutant since he Wasn't born like that & Scarlet Withch isn't a mutant in this universe without a retcon.

This is what I meant. Bringing them into this universe now would need all kinds of changes/excuses and most of them can fukk up everything about them, erasing their history. Magneto wouldn't have given a fukk about anything happening in Civil War but you could tie his hatred to Skull & Hydra somehow. The Xavier mind wipe cover-up could work. I hate the idea of tying the X-gene directly to the stones.

Sinister and Apoc are easy, Sinister plotted patiently in secrecy, Apoc been hibernating.

If they started from scratch it wouldn't matter. It's a soft intro and easily put into the current universe. All that time bending shyt wouldn't be needed. Ain't nobody gonna wanna sit through " well see what had happened was" plus it avoids the issue of why they weren't there for CW, IW, AOU, Avengers. Because they weren't. For diehard comic fans it may suck but 95% of the audience it's totally believable.

I meant Magneto would have been mad about registration not then dudes scrapping. Then when he found Zemo was connected (his dad could have been in the ethics cleansing with Hydra maybe) and he gets involved. Due to Hyrda hatred and the whole registration thoughts. He views them both as terrible and starts to wreak havoc.

Suddenly Hydra cells start getting clapped....the government didn't sanction those attacks and then they find out about what he is and there are more like him.

I bet the clean up in Homecoming will tie into the gene of mutants. The DNA leftover caused mutations...it would bring in a young Cyclops, Jean Grey etc. They always existed on some level but majority manifested with that event.

Yall overthinking it. Separate universe is the way to go. Do an X-Men reboot, establish its in another universe. Then do a remix of Battleworld or something and have the universes merged at the end of it somehow.

All the changes to history it’d take to fit mutants into the MCU would have these movies ripped apart by the hardcore fans.

fukk the hardcore

If they make great to solid movies and execute as flawless as possible, all will be well.

Separating them would make about as much sense as keeping Batman out the DCU.

Imagine if Nolan was still making Batman movies but kept it in its own little world.

So then in the DCU, Batman isn’t available.

There is no BvS instead the do a Flash vs Superman: Dawn of Justice movie and later JL doesn’t include Batman or make reference to Gotham. Maybe even take from the show and let Green Arrow “Ollie” be that Batman figure that gets everyone together

Also none of the Gotham Rogue are available either.

And on the Nolanside still business as usual..... “Ultra Conservative Realism”

No outrageous tech
No meta humans
No magic
No aliens
No super powers.

The next Batman movies just take on his plain human foes.

Man people would have fits

Na breh...... why unnecessarily limit your Universe? Bring everyone under one banner and have unlimited choices and combinations for what you do...... plus have the comic book people make the comic book movies

Batman occupies his own corner of the DC universe. It’s easy to tell isolated Batman stories without crossing over into Superman’s or WW’s territory. Yes technically Superman should drop in once in awhile to help out with Joker and all the other foes but he’s also dealing with a world of problems himself. For the most part it’s understood that Batman has Gotham under control.

But if any of Batman’s villains pulled a scheme that threatened the entire world, or the entire galaxy... it would be pretty weird for Superman not to show up if it’s already been established that he’s alive and well in that same universe.

That last line in my last post I think many of us sleep on and take for granted.

Yes Sony, Universal, and Fox been doing they thing..... buts it’s always been equivalent of a Jack and a Box or Hardees restaurant.

Where Marvel is just one thing like say a Subway.

Do y’all really wanna eat burritos from Hardees?

Have y’all ever ate a taco from Jack?:hhh:

I trust the creators to have a little bit more care and thought vs the company’s that’s basically renting these properties out

If McDonalds, Wendy’s, and BK started selling egg rolls, General Tso combos with fries..... would y’all start eating Chinese food from them?:picard:

I get you. I gotta deal with whatever Marvel decides but I hate the idea of just starting over. I'm one of them fans & after Fox fukking up the characters for so long I don't wanna see Marvel start out ruing their backstory right out the gate. Of course we still gonna watch to see our favorite characters & I think Marvel gonna get good casting & a strong story together, I just don't wanna see the mutants whole identity destroyed. Turning the "miracles" into outright mutants is how I always saw them doing this but the whole tension between them & flatscans still won't exist. The mindwipe/they're ultra rare/most are locked up angle is the only way I see this making sense. Everything about putting them in this universe is a "see what had happened was" scenario.

Magneto wouldn't give a fukk about registration but him finding out about Zemo being around, linking him to Hydra bases & spies who held "miracles" captive. Kills Hydra cells to free them, creating the Brotherhood. Some Hydra agents turn out to be double agents within Shield & draw attention, setting shyt off. Somewhere during Magnetos attacks & battles with the government trying to stop him Fury & Xavier meet up & agree to work together. They finally track Magneto down, battle ensues...

Xavier: Eric stop this, blah, blah, blah, coexist, blah, blah, blah...
Magneto: No Charles, blah, blah, blah, they'll never accept us, blah, blah, blah...
Xavier: There must be another way, blah, blah, blah...
Magneto: Their government is corrupt, I've shown the world, I'll destroy it and....
Fury: Wait, instead of destroying our system, let us try to fix it..... While you and your people build your own...
Magneto: What are you proposing?
Fury: Ever heard of Genosha?

This was my original suggestion. Build up a separate universe & have an inversion or something occur so they cross paths later.

I'm one of those fans that don't want major history changes. This ain't Spidey where slight tweaks made it work out good.

I just think we need to not be so concerned about that and continue to respectfully and appropriately suspend our disbelief due to the content no matter the medium.

Cuz when we watched the cartoons and a worldwide threat occurred did we wonder on Spider-Man “Hey why ain’t F4, DD, IM always helping him?”

When you play Spider-Man later this year on PS4 are you gonna ask “hey, where Luke Cage?”

When you read the comics of one particular hero, do you have someone else on your mind?

We gonna have to learn to just relax and accept certain things and keep it moving and I don’t get how that is difficult when we accept all the other fantasy/sci fi elements that take place in all these films down to simple shyt like “coincidentally every alien always speak proper and pretty fluent English yet you got people in the same planet that can’t even communicate with each other

No where near the same. DC didn't establish a whole universe without Batman in it from the beginning. All they'd have to say is Batman been in Gotham the whole time. Explaining one person being gone isn't the same as an entire population of people popping up out the blue.
