Just saw it. It wasn't terrible. Expected a lot worse. It was definitely a decent standalone film. But these movies have thrown timeline and continuity in the bushes a few movies ago. It also proved the X men have the best powers. Some of the action and set pieces were awesome.

Because none of them are really overpowered. There's great diversity in the utility of their powers which flows more natural than most superhero teams where there's too much of the same.

Sophie Turner's acting during the street scene was fukking awful, her head was shaking like cray when she was speaking :dead: Chastain was a pointless character, she was just a hypeman. Also Jean was 8 in 1975, 35 in 1992 but looks like she's 21 :mjlol:

Storm getting washed by some dreads :beli:

Jean talking about everywhere she goes, she kills people but she only killed one person before she said that line :dahell:

The action was better in this movie than XMA but both movies are on the same level in terms of quality imo

Fail math brehs.

:hhh:

This movie was pretty good in an unbiased view. The X-Men fan in me can overlook the flaws of the movie as it had me super hyped.

Action scenes were crazy and I liked what they did with the Xavier subplot. In fact the fact that they reshot this movie tells me they were supposed to be in space more with nefarious Xavier.

This movie is a remake of last stand as you can tell by some of the callbacks between the two. Watching it I never thought it was a super hero movie. Like Xavier said it's silly to call them super heroes.

This is a movie grounded in reality, dealing with the characters. No corny jokes, just straight plot and character direction.

Unfortunately the script dialogue is very basic. The villain didn't have a name but I thought that was the point. It's about Jean.

Magneto's gravity squeeze
:picard:

Nightcrawler train spotting
:wow:

Jean ethering Mags and showing him what bodied means
:merchant:

Jean sidelining Peter for the whole movie

:pachaha:

Definitely an enjoyable movie and the best super hero joint this year.

It has it's flaws but none that the critics punish it for like not being an Avengers movie with a formulaic approach.

The reception to this movie made me start rewatching the animated show which I haven't seen in years.
Same. I was trying to find a stream Thursday night but kept getting some low quality stuff so ended up watching a few episodes of the animated series. I realized that I never watched the episode featuring Cannonball when it originally aired back in 1997. :dahell: Instead of bracing for disappointment by watching Dark Phoenix I instead got to see a previously unwatched episode. :ahh:
