Apparently this is tracking for a 170 million dollar global opening. Probably frontloaded as all hell, but critics may not have the last laugh just yet. Not that I am interested in seeing this. First of all it's much easier to get "A-List" names for comedic cameos than full-time roles

Second Fassbender is one of the top actors working today and is Oscar and BAFTA-nominated. Your second statement is literally you talking out your ass. Him and McAvoy have been the only consistent things about this franchise since the First Class soft reboot.

Writing is not directing, which is what you said. I know anything Kinsberg has written has largely been trash, and he clearly got the job because he has produced and worked on all the main X-movies since the First Class reboot. The guy is an extension of what Fox wants from the franchise, and the fact that the guy by himself mostly writes trash falls in that lane.
