Yeah.
The film Apocalypse could have looked like this

A comic-inspired take on the character was very possible

Tested recently released a fascinating video interview with Ironhead Studio founder Jose Fernandez, where Fernandez describes much of the work he's been doing with superhero design in film, often with little to no credit. Ironhead worked on Batman v Superman, Thor,Tron Legacy, Batman Returns, The Avengers and many others. The company knows how to create and execute on complex ideas.

The entire video is wonderful if you're interested in superhero suit design and fabrication, but the real heartbreaker takes place when Fernandez shows off his concepts for X-Men: Apocalypse.

Fernandez said he lost the bid to work on Apocalypse, and like many of us he was "underwhelmed" by the final version of the character. He also had a lifecast of Apocalypse actor Oscar Isaac, and decided to take a crack at the design.

"I thought maybe it’s not possible to make him look like this character, but that is sculpted on Oscar Isaac, so I’m like well no, it was possible," he said. So the version of Apocalypse from this video isn't just a dream, it could have been made to work with the actor playing the part.

"I sculpted the makeup and then I kind of bashed out the armor fairly quickly, but just an impression of what that character I think could be, could have been," Fernandez explained.

What could've been, right? :francis:

What the fukk has been so enjoyable about

X-Men 3
Origins
X-Men 1
Apocalypse

And not to mention FF and shyt.

That's the difference.

Disney made it work. Fox didn't. And Fox had an 8 year head start, better villians and deeper or just as deep roster.

I am not a hater. If DC, Sony, Fox or Disney make a dope flick I'm all in. This movie...especially after Apocalypse and it looks like they learned zero lessons....looks like a desperate act to milk this long in the tooth series

Apocalypse is just as epic as Thanos and more well-known due to the cartoon. Who shyt the bed and who made a cultural moment?

Tell me how that shyt is even comparable.

I'm on this wave. X-Men is my favorite comic book series besides Batman. Historically the writing and characters is levels above most other comics. And I'll say, for the most part they get the casting and the tone correct...but I cannot forgive the shytty writing. It's absolute shyt writing. I wanted to love the series so much because the aesthetic was there...but Apocalypse came out, when Apocalypse came out I even struggle praised it...it took me buying the blue ray to realize I've been cheerleading for some shyt that for 16 years has been mostly subpar and beyond creative liberty, was just flat out disrespectful to the source material.

I can't ride for it anymore.

What you realised is what happened to me.

MCU even though they had turds (IM2 & 3, Thor 2, AOU) the payoff, the villain the absolute build up made the journey worth those hiccups.

They honored the source material, worked within the limits of their catalogue due to rights issues and made 3-dimensional characters.

They gave a shyt to make you come back.

Fox just dropped flicks like "fukk it they'll show up".

X1 was great just because it ushered in the superhero era

X3 was good, although not great like it should have been. But the franchise went downhill after Origins. They ruined fukking Deadpool...like that isn't the easiest character to get right

And dudes enjoyed that shyt!?!?

I can't even.....

The one time I wanted Snyder over Singer, visually speaking, Snyder delivers, Singer done already fukked up way back when he casted Pacquin as Rogue. Say what you want about Snyder, he at least keeps the costumes accurate.

X-Men 1

when compared to

Blade
Superman 1 and 2
Batman 1989
The Crow

Is a fukking mediocre ass movie on a good day. They didn't let anyone fly and Rogue was a joke.

X3 was an abomination.

It would have been a shyt story but Apocalypse under Snyder would have been visually fun.

As much as I shyt on him he's perfect for Mortal Kombat.
