Out of curiosity..... what X-men character not named Wolverine, Xavier, Magneto, and maybe Cyclops are most of y’all so excited to see on the big screen?:patrice:

If we being real, at this point the X-men would probably be better for the Netflix/Disney streaming level.

That way maybe they can give some of the lesser ones that we trynna pretend we care about some time.

Hell the real question is for the MCU are they gonna go the direction of The Uncanny X-men, Ultimate X-men or The Astonishing X-men?:jbhmm:

Outside of those four, I'm really crossing my fingers that Storm, Nightcrawler, and Colossus are a part of the main team. Shout-outs to Kitty Pryde and Rogue.

Yea but the first....at this point.... they could just put them in any other Marvel movies since they villains:smugdraper:

I'm sorry.... I'm just not that interested in seeing too much of Storm by herself or her scenes in ANY of the past never captivated me.

And if its not this Rogue

How Fox never got this right is inexcusable.

Probably Ultimate X-Men. The MCU borrowed a lot from the Ultimate universe so it would make sense to go that route. That could explain why mutants exist(the government tried to recreate the super soldier experiment but accidentally created mutants). Also the Ultimate Magneto was younger than the 610 version so that could explain why Magneto is fairly young instead of being a near 90 something holocaust survivor.

IMO for the second batch of films it should have been first class in 1962, the second film should have taken place in probably the late 60s with the X-Men vs the Brotherhood, and the final film should have been DOFP. That way it could completely close the chapter on Fox's X-Men films, brought back everyone(Cyclops and Jean) and been a happily ever after.

Confident and Sexy Rogue stole her flight+powers and confidence from Captain Marvel(Ms Marvel). It might be hard to have that Rogue in the MCU since Captain Marvel is already in the MCU.....i doubt they'll want to do that story since its so much of a buzz kill.....meaning we may never see the Rogue we all love from the Xmen Cartoon of the 90s onscreen.

I think it'd be great to have that in X-Men vs Avengers myself.

Even a flashback of Rouge doing that.

Marvel is known to show their heroes get fukked up....I think it'd be great.

Dark Phoenix Could Be Disney's First X-Men Movie

Simon Kinberg's Dark Phoenix could become Disney's first X-Men movie. It's been almost one year since the Mouse House made their first bid to acquire 21st Century Fox's movie and TV assets, which includes world-renowned Hollywood studio 20th Century Fox. Of course, they spent several months following their initial offer in a bidding war with other entertainment companies out there, such as Comcast. But after making some concessions and upping their bid from $52.4 billion to $71.3 billion in cash and stock, Disney's Fox acquisition is almost complete.

It was reported earlier this month that the Disney-Fox deal could close by the end of 2018, but then it was later revealed that it may actually end up closing in January 2019 - not too long after, but long enough to push the finalization into the new year. At that point, it's possible that several 20th Century Fox movies already in development may release under Walt Disney Studios' branding, or at least be distributed by the studio. And it looks like the first movie to do so will actually be an X-Men movie.

THR reports that it's possible Dark Phoenix, which was recently delayed to June 2019 from its previously February 2019 release date, will be the first movie to release under Disney-owned Fox. Furthermore, it will also be the first X-Men movie to release post-acquisition. Interestingly, Robert Rodriguez's Alita: Battle Angel, which releases in February 2019, will still release as a Fox movie. It's unclear why that is, but it could possibly have something to do with the U.S. Justice Department's gun-jumping clause.

It was previously reported that Walt Disney Studios was considering taking over development and distribution of Fox's Avatar and X-Men franchises. So, it will be interesting to see which studio's logo appears on the big screen when Dark Phoenix releases: Disney's castle logo or Marvel Studios' logo. Even though all of the Mouse House's movies are distributed by Walt Disney Studios, they only feature the flagship studio's logo if that film was made by them. But if X-Men is folded into Disney's main house, what does that mean for Marvel Studios and the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Perhaps there will be the Disney-owned Fox movies under Disney and then the MCU X-Men movies over at Marvel Studios. But that remains to be seen.

As for Dark Phoenix being Disney's first Fox movie to release post-acquisition, it falls in line with what previous studios have done. For example, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 released under Summit Entertainment in 2012... but as a "Lionsgate company". So, it makes sense that Disney may do the same thing: release Dark Phoenix as a 20th Century Fox movie, but as a Disney company, and then allow Marvel Studios to do what they want with the MCU. There's no reason why there can't be two X-Men franchises going at the same time.

New 'X-Men: Dark Phoenix' Poster Released

While big things are happening in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (Avengers 4), the DC Extended Universe (Aquaman), and even Sony's Marvel Universe (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Venom), it's almost hard to remember that Fox's Marvel Universe is still a thing - especially since the franchise will soon be absorbed into MCU.

That's why the makers of the next X-Men movie, Dark Phoenix, are here to remind you that their film is still a thing that's happening in the superhero movie genre - as you can see below in this new poster revealed at Brazil's CCXP18:

x-men-dark-phoenix-movie-poster-comic-book-cover-art-1148771.jpeg

As you can see, this international one-sheet for Dark Phoenix is done in the style of some classic Marvel Comics cover art.It invokes the look and style of some classic John Byrne-era X-Men comics, which is only appropriate since Byrne co-created the original "Dark Phoenix" comic book storyline, alongside iconic X-Men writer, Chris Claremont. The image seems to tell the story of how Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) finds herself imbued with the powers of the cosmic entity known as The Phoenix Force, and becomes an all-powerful prize in a tug-of-war between her two mentors, Professor Xavier and Magneto.

If that sounds a lot like the role that Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique has played in this rebooted X-Men: First Class timeline - you'd be correct. In fact, the first Dark Phoenix trailer revealed a lot of implication that there will be a "changing of the guard" of sorts with Turner's Jean Grey to officially become the new lady that Charles (James McAvoy) and Erik (Michael Fassbender) compete to have on their side. However, unlike Mystique, it's a fair bet that Dark Phoenix will ultimately see Jean reject both of her patriarchal figures, in favor of embracing her own power. That just seems like the type of timely story that director Simon Kinberg and Co. want to tell here - and it could be an interesting use of the superhero movie genre.

At the same time, the first Dark Phoenix trailer didn't do a lot to impress Marvel fans. If anything, it made this adaptation of the Dark Phoenix Saga seem rather small in scope, with one big set piece in space early on, before we settle into a sequence of the X-Men chasing after Jean/Phoenix from one soundstage setting to another. All in all, it was a pretty underwhelming interpretation of one X-Men's biggest stories, so here's hoping the extra time for reshoots and a smooth polish on the material has been worth it!

Dark Phoenix hits theaters on June 7, 2019.
