They are following Chris Claremonts most famous stories..don't matter who is doing anything. The animators getting it done on time. That's it. They got a few revisements like Jean and Madeline leaving on good terms and not having Cyclops just leave his son and wife for Jean but it's all Claremont

and a good amount of the people that work on it are x-men stans. so they will fight as hard as possible to get things as close to xmen as possible.
